Pretty good for a sub $200 PC, Trackpad could be better. For less than $200, you will be hard-pressed to find a new device that works this well. It looks pretty good and feels nice and solid. I would say great device for a child/grandparent/anyone who needs a personal device that isn’t going to be gaming or designing on it. If your laptop needs are limited to streaming and email – this is going to be able to deliver most of what a much more expensive laptop will for you. Can be a bit slow when opening a new tab in browser or switching back and forth between apps, so I would not recommend for anyone who intends to have a lot of tabs open or multiple apps at the same time.My one complaint would be the trackpad. I gave my parents a chromebook a while back (Chromebooks can only use Chrome, but work well and with office online, my parents don’t need much else). It was less than this PC and the trackpad on it is delightful to use. I purchased a mouse to use with this laptop, but as I won’t always be able to use one, tried out the trackpad – it’s terrible. Slow, lags, does not feel smooth at all. I’d only use it if I were in a place where there was no other choice.Overall, great, especially at this price point. Gamers, designers, etc probably won’t be able to make much use of it, but they would know that.
Not thrilled. So went to switch it out of s mode n it says it’s not a genuine copy of windows. Support hopefully can get this cleared up or back it goes cuz I paid for a laptop with windows not have to buy it again.
The way the computer looks. I would get this computer again. The computer is easy to use!!!
Bien. Bien 👍
Amazing. Amazing . I will be ordering more
Nice Computer. Computer itself is really good and fast. The only thing that slows it down is MS Windows as you know. I have used windows from the start. I used Windows XP right up to 2020, when Internet Security protocols stopped their support, XP was the best, and Windows 7 was the last best. After Windows 7 MS windows went down hill. If Apple would have more user friendly programs, or Apps as they are called nowadays, a lot more people would be switching over. As well as the open software platforms such as Linux, etc. But MS pretty much had a monopoly on the OS being sold on new computer sales and that is how they got so big so fast, and why people did not have too much of a choice, and therefore got used to using the MS windows OS. As you probably know, all the trouble came from the windows updates, anything and everything thatcould go wrong came from the updates. That is why I was able to use my Windows XP until 2020, I neverdid updates. You are probably thinking then why am I buying this computer as MS now forces updates to go throughon all newer computers with their OS on it, as they want to keep control of everything that you do now and want to know everything that you are searching for. Well I got so used to using windows. I like the interface interaction, and now I have to do a lot of manipulating to get the files and such working as older versions. But, once you do, it gets better. Of course I disable updates and Edge. So after a little tweaking this computer works well, although not like MS intended it to work. And one feature of all windows, which I think is the best, (MS will probably do something to it after I post this review) is the backwards compatibility feature. With this feature you can load an older version ofSoftware or an old Game and it will work on the newer computer. As an example I am using Software Programs that are close to twenty years old and Games that are sixteen years old.
Ordered 12th gen and was sent a 13th gen. I did a lot of research to find a 12th Gen Intel processor… Came across the Acer Nitro 15, described in 4 Models, across the 12th to 14th gen processors, and a choice of five video configs. I chose the 12th gen with the 3060Ti. I was sent a 13th gen with the 3060Ti. I’m crossing my fingers it is not affected by the Intel Meltdown Bug….Hence Why I Ordered 12th gen… The change to the die giving the 13th gen the speed boost has a voltage bug, it’s well documented… The Die width of the 14th gen is smaller, yet shares the same voltage issue due to the architecture. I have to laugh at some of the reviews, People need to know what they buy, so Here is my experience after Using it as a main computer while on a three week vacation: Setup: Basic New OS install interface. Have a MS account, or it makes a new one for you, including an outlook e-mail. Registration with Acer: Good Luck! Links back to Acer are Broken in the script making the process lengthy and a real pain in the ….. I have been attempting it for 12 days and I still have no Idea if the product is registered, it error after error after error…Email reminder after Email reminder, get the idea? Battery: Goes for about an hour and a half gaming, and about 3 hours on Wi-Fi Browsing. You Purchased a High Power Processor!! You can NOT expect any type of battery life!! If you want a long Life battery, get a processor designate as U not an H. With this one, it is best to Use it plugged in! The Battery manager allows you to cap charging at 80%. That’s a nice touch, since you will more than likely use the system docked a majority of the time due in part to the HIGH POWER Processor that is advertised and installed. Fans: in Auto Mode the fans are almost unheard when browsing or working with office software, streaming videos or picture editing. When gaming the fans can spin up to a noticeable Volume. In High mode, they are quite loud at full spin when they are punching 30kRPM keeping things cool. I have found that a few water bottle or soda caps under the back corners helps drastically with keeping your HIGH POWER PROCESSOR and Video card Cool. Sound: The Spatial sound is quite amazing. It’s a full 360 degree surround. It made the gaming quite immersive when you muted the games background music. Ambient sounds were clear, Background movement was easily discernable. So I’m not sure why people are complaining…. Pre-Installed Software: Norton AV Sucks!! Very First removal and replacement!!! MS Office 360/Edge are Gone Because they SUCK! Nitro Sense is Sweet, but annoying with all the notifications. Nitro Sense is a Must Use for this build. It has so many features and tweaks that are quite handy for tuning the laptop to what your current usage needs are. It also has an overlay to keep you totally informed on how your critical hardware is preforming. The standard Temp/Speed/Mem/Proc/Frame rate ect all on a small overlay. Which is Handy for video rendering and gaming. Touch Pad: The touch pad supports gestures and has a finger print reader and pressure point switching. It tracks well, a with a very fine resolution. It’s extremely sensitive out of the box. Some adjustment may be required. Video: Colors are crisp and clear. I was pushing 128FPS on a mediocre internet connection. The screen didn’t cause eye irritation or discomfort after multiple hours of constant use. Keyboard: Standard mini QWERTY with NUM pad and Directional arrow keys. It’s back lit and silent. I like it, the Wife hates it and she made me add gaming KB/Mouse. .. Other Issues: Information on the build spec is limited if available at all. I know it has DDR5 RAM installed, however it is IMPOSSIBLE to know if it is One stick or two. so you have to crack the back and VOID the warranty by opening the case to find out! If your rendering or FPS Gaming it is a necessity to Max it. The secondary NVMe, PCIe slot is limited to Gen2 as the GEN3 slot contains the main drive. Over all, I’m happy with the purchase. I got a great price for a 12th gen laptop, and received a 13th gen, so hard to complain about an additional $150 savings. Just a bit nervous about the intel Meltdown Bug….
My 13 year old gamer loves it. Purchased for my son’s 13th birthday. The Acer Nitro V gaming laptop has exceeded his expectations! The graphics are impressive, and games run smoothly even on higher settings. The cooling system works well and keeps the laptop from overheating, even during longer sessions. The display is bright and clear, and the 144Hz refresh rate makes gameplay super smooth. The build is sturdy and has a sleek, gamer-friendly design. Battery life isn’t the longest, but that’s expected for a gaming laptop. For this price point, it’s an excellent choice for gamers who want solid performance without breaking the bank. Highly recommend!
Bought for girlfriend. Purchased as a gift for girlfriend. Her use case is light occasional gaming on the side, but mainly for academic use, which this performs very well. Games include Minecraft, and lighter competitive shooter games. This laptop definitely allows you to play the games you want to – you might have to tone down some settings in order to achieve a consistent frame rate. Weight wise, this is a very light laptop compared to most other gaming laptops. It does not add much heft in a backpack, so it’s something to keep in mind when shopping for a laptop for college! Overall, I would recommend this as an entry-level gaming laptop and a solid college laptop when used for studying.
