  1. Excellent food (made in the USA) and dogs love it. My dogs love this food and it is made in the USA. I only buy pet products that are 100% made in the USA or in Canada. Be careful because some brands state “manufactured in the USA” which is a deceiving label because it means that the ingredients are probably from China (or elsewhere) and only baked/processed in the USA.I have researched many, many dog foods and settled on Wellness (and one other brand for occasional variety). This is how I conducted my research:My #1 and mandatory criteria is that the food is “made in the USA”. If it’s not made in the USA (or in Canada) then it doesn’t matter what is on the label because you can’t trust it. If a food is made in China it could have the best ingredients on the label – but again, you can’t trust it (the label might say “no meat byproducts” but how do you know for sure?). In fact, I would rather feed my dogs a below-average brand that is made in the USA or Canada vs. a premium brand that is made in China or elsewhere. So that’s why “made in the USA” was is #1 criteria. My #2 criteria are the ingredients. I’m looking for good protein (no meat byproducts) and minimal or no fillers (soy, wheat, corn, etc.). Wellness has excellent ingredients. My #3 criteria is price. While the price of this food is above-average, it’s not the most expensive. And last but not least, my dogs have to actually like the food. I have tried other premium dog food brands (also made in the USA) and my dogs for whatever reason just didn’t like the food and I would have to mix in ground beef, etc. to get them to eat it. With Wellness, they are happy when it’s breakfast or dinner time and their bowls are always licked clean.

  2. Picky German Shepherd likes it. My picky German Shepherd likes this food. When we first got him he was being fed Science Diet which I maintained until he was out of the puppy stage. I switched his to adult Science Diet and he wouldn’t eat it. I had to add wet food to cover the dry food just to get him to try it. So I researched foods and the Wellness brand came highly recommended for large breeds. I appreciated the quick responses to my questions from the company so decided to give it a try. I started with Wellness Core Large Breed (grain free), my Shepherd has a sensitive stomach & I thought grain free would help but he didn’t care for it at all so I switched to this one and he likes it just fine-no stomach issues either. He’s particularly interested when I open a new bag-likes to stick his head in the container and eat straight from it. Although the bag is resealable its tough to get closed completely. I don’t have to feed as much either-he seems to get full on less food. His coat got much softer/shinier after the first couple weeks as well. My only complaints are there are lots of crumbles at the bottom of the food container, but that could just be the scoop I use, and that 30 pounds is the biggest size of bag-I go through about a bag a month for my 85 pound bundle of joy. This food is expensive, but my guy is worth every penny! I think it also depends on what your dog likes-if you find a food your pup will eat I say stick with it!

  3. My dog loves it and didn’t have any problems adapting to it. I will buy more for sure

  4. Good Item!

  5. My giant boys love this food. They gobble it up right away. It has helped maintain their shiny fur and eyes, and good looks. It also keeps their #2s pretty firm, and honestly has reduced the smell just a bit (but still not roses!!)

  7. German shepherd happiness. Couple of supply chain issues with Amazon. Gonna try the regular Wellness for dogs. It’s a little less money. Same brand. With research discovered both have similar nutrients. My guy gets regular organic food. It’s like shopping for two people. From beef chop meat to streak, chicken, wild caught fish, and grown produce, rice, oats, etc. Anything a German Shepherd is able to share. In small amounts.Though we travel often enough requires a dry quality food since superfood wheat grass and protein shakes are not part of what a GSD could eat.I’m grateful Wellness is able to continue producing food for dogs and cats.Even the cat food I’ve had to switch since their normal Wellness for indoor cats is far and apart available via Amazon. Switching now while I still have one bag will help the sensitive kitty adjust over a month. The dog is happy and healthy so hope Wellness can keep up with demandUpdate /First began having this delivered via PetFlow. When the company no longer carried the cat Wellness switched the food delivery to a different brand without asking we discontinued the service. My main concern with Amazon is quality. I’ve researched and found certain products made to sell here. Are different quality from the store but marketed as similar. Also, Wellness recently changed its packaging from zip closure to none and also the ingredients.Because we travel I need food for long-distance trips and needed a large breed of food that would care for my boy.Plus, a cat with stomach issues before adoption needed food that would nurture her sensitive nature. Curing her from vomiting and parking up her health. Then, a little buddy, 1/2 pounder, found at a Waffle House in the middle of the night.Switching to Amazon for delivery so far has proven a plus. Already set up for subscribe and save adding furry food was simple. The savings are like Petflow.I noticed the cat’s fur is sleeker and they seem to wanna eat a little extra. The ingredients have not appeared to diminish as if read other people complain.Besides this, I share wild-caught sardines with all three. And, the dog gets all sorts of food I’m eating as well. Organic blueberries to organic bananas, meat, etc. The dry is a good staple that helps my boy appear to maintain a good weight, lovely fur, and omit quality of health.Super easy to feed during travel, too.A bag of the dog and the cat food fit in the storage containers bought together on wheels here.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯

  9. Crazy amount of daily food serving. Made my dog gassy and poos not normal. This dog food did not work for my puppy. I have a larger breed of dog. We brought him home at 3 months old.The short version:I am disappointed with Wellness Complete for a few reasons- size of portions and it was making our puppy have very runny poos and gas. I don’t understand why a good quality dog food is not more nutrient/calorie dense that it takes 4.5 cups of Wellness Complete food to another brand’s 3 cups or to Core’s 3.5 cups. We chose Wellness brand because our old dog thrived on Wellness Core. (Our old pup was allergic to corn. At the time, Core was almost the only alternative choice.) I thought Complete would be the best option for this new puppy. It definitely wasn’t. In looking for answers online, many answers suggested checking for worms. I was very positive this wasn’t a worm issue but a food issue. I knew he was tested for worms before we adopted him. We had him for less than a month at the time. In talking it over with my spouse, we decided before calling the vet to discontinue Wellness complete and switch the puppy to Core because our old dog ate it for his entire life. Within 24 hours of not eating Complete Puppy and instead eating Core puppy, his poos became solid and he stopped pooing on walks. He also has less gas.The longer version of our experience:His first food was a little bag of another brand that we picked up after we adopted the pup. It worked well for him, but we wanted to put him on Wellness because that was the brand of our previous dog.Our second bag of food was Wellness Complete Puppy. This was about a week into having him. What amazed me was how much food he was receiving compared to the starter bag we bought him. On Wellness complete, our pup’s recommended daily allowance was over 1 cup more of food over the other brand. We noticed he poo’d a lot and they were wet but he was new to us.After eating 15 pounds in less than 2 weeks, we decided maybe the Wellness Puppy large breed food may be better for him. I admit, I didn’t do my homework on switching him. I assumed that the large breed food was the same except bigger pieces. I still haven’t compared the nutrition of the two side by side. What I know for sure is when we received the bag of large breed food, I did a double take when I saw how much food he was eating for a daily portion. 4.5 cups a day. This was a cup more than the regular Wellness complete puppy. When we switched to the large breed, we just switched without working in the old and new together. Again, thought it was the same food. That day after a month with us was the first time he poo’d in the house. Through the week, we also observed he would have a solid poo in the morning and the rest of the day he may or may not. When we walked him, he would have at least one very soft almost diarrhea poo if not more. He had terrible gas. We took away treats. We took away wet food. Still no improvement. I started looking up reviews of Wellness Complete and saw puppies with similar patterns. We decided to take a break from Wellness Complete and tried Wellness Core. We trust Wellness Core. Within 24 hours, our pup began pooing solidly. No accidents. Less poos on his walks. By day 3, he was no longer pooing on his walks. No longer having soft/wet poos. All normal. Also on Core, he was eating less a day. We weren’t sure if Core was the best choice for this pup. We weren’t sure if he was allergic to a grain or if Complete puppy was not the right choice. We switched his food one last time to a completely different brand (Blue). He has continued to poo solid. No poos on the walk. He eats a whole 1.5 cups less of Blue over Wellness complete large breed puppy. No more gas.I debated whether to keep him on Core or switch to Blue. Core is all protein. Our old pup needed that. He was a high energy. He was allergic to corn. This new puppy we weren’t sure needs an all protein diet. This is why after almost a week on Core, we decided to try him on Blue. We wanted to make sure Core worked for him (it did) and if a new food didn’t we would switch him back. In our case, the new food works just as well for him and will keep him on Blue rather than Wellness.

  10. My dog loves it. It seems to be treating him well. If I control the portions accurately he maintains a healthy weight. Healthy looking BMs also. TMI I know but it’s helpful.
