  1. POP-ular in our Home! 😁. Fantastic! I’ve been using this style of popcorn popper for years! This my ninth rotation style stovetop popper in over 20 years (we’ve replaced quite a few over the years, they don’t last forever). It makes fantastic popcorn, quickly and easily! So far this popper has proven to be better than any of the models I’ve tried previously. It’s relatively sturdy and for no reason I can discern, comes clean a little easier (it’s not easy to clean, but easier than other similar poppers). We pop popcorn almost every day at our house and so far this one has been a workhorse!PROS:1. Pops a batch of popcorn in a FLASH!2. Super easy to use.3. Rotating arm prevents burned kernels (I still manage to burn a few from time to time, but only when I walk away and don’t spin the arm constantly).4. Seems to pop almost every kernel as opposed to simply using a large saucepan.5. Sturdier than some other models.CONS:1. Doesn’t stand up to dishwasher cleaning, and is a little bit of a pain in the behind to clean.2. Can get a little misshapen and become warped if it gets too hot or you put water in/on it while it’s still hot.3. Kind of pricey for a popcorn popper (well worth it, in my opinion, but it is kind of spendy.TIPS:1. If you char some kernels in the bottom of the pan, or it just starts to get difficult to clean, use Barkeeper’s Friend (with a Brillo or SOS pad if it’s REALLY bad)…it works wonders on these poppers.2. Set your heat just under medium high and almost every kernel will pop, without scorched bits or smoking and burning.BOTTOM LINE: I have tried every style of popcorn popper out there over the years, and not only does this style top the list, but this particular model is one of the best of its type that I’ve used. Worth it!

  2. Impressed! Easy to use and no more scorching or “old maids”. I’m very impressed! Makes fantastic popcorn very quickly and with no mess. The steam vents are efficient so you get crispy popcorn. And though it’s lightweight aluminum, the popcorn doesn’t scorch as long as you keep cranking the handle a bit.Pros:- The lid stays on well but it’s still easy enough to remove when you need to clean it.- Vents are efficient and keep your popcorn crispy without allowing hot oil to pop out all over your stove.- The gearing and handle make for a sturdy grip and smooth stir so your popcorn won’t scorch as easily.- The aluminum heats up quickly so the process is fast.Cons:- It’s aluminum so it dents pretty easily so be a little gentle with it. Hubby dropped ours and dinged the bottom edge but thankfully not enough to impede the stirrer.- Not dishwasher safe but still easy to clean with soap and water or just wiping out.- There’s a small learning curve to figure out temperature adjustment for your particular stove.Hints:I’ve been very successful with this recipe and method.1. Place 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in cold pan along with 3 kernels of popcorn. Heat over medium high heat until you hear that all 3 kernels have popped. Turn off heat.2. With the heat off, add a scant 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels and 1/2 stick of cold butter that has been sliced into at least 4 pieces and stir well. Allow to sit for about 30 seconds to gently melt the butter and to soften the hulls of the corn, which will allow the corn to fully explode and keep “old maids” to a minimum.3. Turn heat back on to medium to medium high depending on your stove. Keep the handle cranking slowly. The popcorn will start popping fast and hard in just a few seconds. Keep cranking gently.4. As the corn pops it may get more difficult to stir as the pan gets full. At that point just go back and forth a bit to keep it moving. Once the popping slows and there is a little time between pops, it’s ready to put into your bowl. Just gently tip to the unlatched side and you’re good to go. Salt and season as desired. This method distributes the butter evenly to all the kernels and doesn’t allow the butter to burn or let the popcorn scorch. And by letting the popcorn sit in the warm pan to gently heat at the beginning, you get giant, fluffy, crispy kernels. So delicious!I would totally buy this pan again. It’s a great bargain.

I wish I could give this 10 stars. I love popcorn. Air-popped, stove popped, even microwave in a pinch, but most of all, I love movie theater popcorn. I go to the movies, not to sit next to strangers coughing and talking, but because that is where I can get the best popcorn. Then I discovered that Disney World sells it, and you can buy a reuseable bucket for $10, and refill it with delicious movie theater style popcorn for $1.50 forever after. We live in central Florida and have passes, so bye-bye movie theaters as I could now get my fix at Disney almost weekly! Then….Covid-19 arrived, and months have gone by with no end in sight to my craving for crunchy, salty, tasty movie theater popcorn. Ugh! So I began to think that there must be something I can do about this. Thank goodness for Amazon! With a little bit of research, my dilemma was solved, crisis averted, and I can now sit at home getting happily fat on as much movie theater popcorn as my heart desires! Check out my other reviews for the future Keto bars and shakes I’ll be living on once I get my fill of popcorn! Ha!Seriously, I hunted around looking for what would be the best system for achieving perfect results and flavor for specifically movie theater style popcorn. I already own 2 air poppers, which I love, but it’s a completely different result. I looked at several types of popping devices and decided on this one because it looked like good quality, being stainless steel and heavier than the aluminum ones. I don’t like burned popcorn. This popper is heavy, sturdy, and pops perfect popcorn without any burning. It is extremely easy to clean, just wipe it out after using (and cooling down) with a cloth and it’s good to go. It has 3 places on the lid where it snaps on to the pot securely, and this is fantastic because as soon as the popcorn is finished, you can pick up the pot by the wood handle without needing potholders, and with the one unsecured flap on the top, you can dump the fresh, hot popcorn into a bowl. The top also has 4 little vents that face in toward the center of the pot so that as steam and little droplets of oil escape, it is kept to a minimum and doesn’t spray out onto the stove, or the person making the popcorn. The top also has all metal gears, and a stirring mechanism for the bottom of the pot to stir the popcorn around as it pops so that you can avoid burning it. This works great for moving the popcorn. I have made popcorn 3 times in 2 days, and every time I get almost every kernal popped, and no burning at all.So, here is my perfect recipe for popcorn that tastes even better than movie theater popcorn. Better because of the quality of the actual popcorn with no hulls attaching to your teeth, and in my case probably a bit more oil than normal because I have no pump for adding extra oil on after finishing, so it’s all with the popped corn – but trust me, it’s the perfect amount! I’m not saying it won’t kill you eventually, but if you have to go, death by carb loaded fatty popcorn is my choice! Anyway…3 TBSP Butter Flavored Coconut Oil – I bought Golden Barrel Butter Flavored Coconut Oil ($9.97/amazon)scant 1/2 tsp Flavacol Popcorn Salt – This is necessary and the secret to perfect flavor – ($7.80/Amazon)1/4 cup good quality popcorn – I bought Amish Country 2-2lb bags Purple Popcorn Kernals ($12.99/Amazon)Turn stove on high, add oil, salt and popcorn. When it starts popping, slowly turn the crank to move popcorn around and when the popping slows to just a couple still popping, remove and keep stirring for about 20-30 seconds to make sure you get as many popped as possible, then carefully pour into a bowl and enjoy. 1/4 cup of popcorn makes a perfect amount for 2 people (or exactly enough for me). The pot makes 1/2 cup at a time and the instructions will tell you that, and to make it along with 3 tbsp oil. I did that the first time and it was a LOT of popcorn! Good for a family of 4 (but yeah, I did eat it all but it took me about an hour and a half, lol). the next time I decided to cut the popcorn amount in half but keep the 3 tbsp oil, and it is the perfect combination.Happy popping everyone!

Still on the fence. The media could not be loaded.  For reference, I’m new to stove top popcorn and just recently became obsessed with cracking the movie theater popcorn recipe and I think I finally found it. Immediately ordered this after scouring the catacombs of Reddit and saw previous theater employees stating butter flavored coconut oil (orange one) along with flavacol popcorn seasoning are the vital ingredients in movie theater popcorn. As for the actual popcorn maker, these are my thoughts so far. I ordered it the same day I ordered the other ingredients for movie theater popcorn and this was scheduled to arrive a day later and I couldn’t wait that long. I pulled out a princess house pot to see if I could make the popcorn in that. It was a complete success and I seriously considered canceling my order for the popcorn maker. Popcorn popped perfectly and clean up was a breeze. Only thing was I had to shake my pot it’s a little heavy so that was the only hassle. When I finally got this popcorn maker I decided to immediately put it to the test. I gave it a good wash and dried everything completely. I kept the lid off and threw in the butter and popcorn seasoning to mix. I suddenly realized oh yea I have to put the lid back on and throw the kernels in. I because very anxious when I realized putting the lid on was harder than I thought it would be. The pot was very hot and you have to grab the sides of the pot to put the lid back on so it snaps into place. Clearly you’re supposed to have the lid already on and open the half opening to add all your ingredients but with the measuring cups it’s a little awkward and you’re afraid some kernels will go all over the place instead of in the pot. I absolutely hate this lid. Hate it. You have to snap it into place from two places and it doesn’t come off effortlessly. Which I get you want it to stay in place so it doesn’t fall off if the popcorn overflows but it’s almost too secure. A potential issue I see is the metal stirrers on the inside. They feel extremely flimsy and so far they’ve been fine but I have to wash it very carefully because I’m afraid it’ll break off, it looks so delicate. On a positive note, I love the stirrers because I don’t have to physically pick up my pot to move the popcorn around and make sure they all get seasoned evenly. I just turn the handle continuously and for even coating. My final thoughts, I’ve already used it two times and have a brown spot in the inside so I’m not returning it at this point. Nothing stuck to the pot as far as food but the brown stain will not come off, looks burnt. Taking the lid off to wash is a pain and I get nervous washing the stirrers. I don’t know that I absolutely need this popcorn maker but I’ll continue to use it. My recommendation is try making a batch in a pot at home before buying this. You may see that you don’t really need this. I bought the stainless steel one because I want it to last and be more durable and it definitely feels substantial. My sister in law commented that hers looks so flimsy compared to mine. I like the look of it and it fits in with the rest of my appliances. I wanted one that looked aesthetically pleasing if I decided to leave it on the stove. It’s a little bulky so I can’t find a space for it yet.On another note, I can’t even tell you how obsessed I am with making popcorn right now, the recipe I found is so good and tasted exactly like movie tester popcorn. I’ve only ever used bagged popcorn and I’ll never go back to that. If you’re curious on the recipe, 1/2 cup popcorn kernels, 1/2 tap to 3/4 tsp flavacol popcorn seasoning and 3 tbsp butter flavored coconut oil.

  5. Love this popper. I love this popper. It is lightweight, easy and so fast! We have used a tabletop, stirring popper, with lid for years and have had to replace them fairly often. Our last one took so long to pop the corn, 15- 20 minutes. With this popper it’s done in about 5 minutes! 3 tbsp oil , 1/2c popcorn as per instructions is the perfect amount to fill the popper and for a movie night.

  6. Excellent. I am completely happy with this purchase. I used it and every kernel popped. There was no burning and clean up was a breeze. I’m so happy.

  7. Good for the price. I use this product almost every day! Decent quality for the cost.

  8. Best Popcorn Popper I Have Used. Without question, this is the best popcorn cooker I’ve used! Outstanding quality! The stainless is magnetic and it worked extremely well on my induction hob. And I say extremely well, as the first time using this today, I followed the directions with 3 Tbs oil (Avocado oil), 1/2 cup corn(fresh Orville Redenbacher’s), with a power lvl 7.5 of 10 on the hob, I heated the oil first with just 2 kernels of corn in to tell they popped, so dumped in the 1/2 cup of corn along with 1 Tbs popcorn seasoning salt and cranked away. The cranking was very smooth with the steel gears effectively rotating the staring wire at the bottom of the cooker. I briefly left the lid open before closing it up after dumping in the corn so I could watch the action of the staring wire, and I must say it was really neat watching it spin around keeping all the corn turning. I would say within less than a minute after dumping the corn in and constantly cranking away, I am quite sure that literally every kernel had to have simultaneously popped! It actually startled me it was so sudden, and the pot was completely filled like within 2 seconds to the point I could no longer turn the crank! I’ve been making popcorn for most my life, and have never seen anything like that! I will have to try and do a vid on the next batch and put up on here as I have never seen anything like that! If you have an portable induction hob like mine or true induction stove top range this is a must have for literally instant popcorn.

  9. Old Times, but makes great popcorn. After fixing my WearEver popcorn popper (electric) for the third time, I took a chance on this archaic- looking thing. It works great on our gas cooktop. Easier to clean than I expected.I junked the electric popper.

  10. Love this way of making popcorn. It is simple and fast to use and makes the kind of corn we grew up eating. I had a the older version of a crank over the stove style popcorn maker, but it finally got too old. This one works super but does seem slightly smaller. It is easy to clean and we use it a few times a week. You cannot go wrong buying one! Go For It!
