Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-36UT, 15.6″ Full HD Display, 11th Gen Intel Core i3-1115G4 Processor, 4GB DDR4, 128GB NVMe SSD, WiFi 6, Windows 11 Home (S Mode)

Great little machine at a ridiculously low price. I figured 4GB of RAM would be sufficient just for day to day use. I was a bit disappointed in 128GB of storage and decided that even though it was a really nice machine for the price, for another $80 and change I could really make it fly.. if you look at my photos you can see that there’s built in space for a 2.5 in SATA drive. In addition there is room to add memory and I decided to add another 8GB of RAM along with the SATA drive and 480 GB of storage. Obviously it makes a huge difference. If you look at the pictures I posted you can see that the Acer storage is depleted by half as soon as you turn the machine on. The Steve drive is the one that I installed. Plenty of storage now. The circled in red photo shows the increase in RAM… WHEN LOOKING FOR INSTRUCTIONS be aware that this model came out back in May of this year. There are very few instructional videos or written pieces to explain where this memory goes. The SATA drive is pretty self-explanatory. The only video I could find with this particular machine is provided by a user whose name is.  @Silicon Edge  you have to go to YouTube and search that name. I don’t believe Amazon would allow me to post a link. It’s not in English but all you have to do is watch his hands. If you try other videos you might think it’s the machine you’ve bought until you open the back of yours and you look at the back of theirs and realize that it’s different. I highly recommend temporarily taking out the screw on your right side of the battery to secure the ribbon clip. Then just readjust the battery and put the screw back in. Watch the video you’ll know exactly what I mean. I love this computer. For $460 including the new ram I upgraded this machine. It would have cost me way more than that to buy it with that memory and that storage from scratch. Quick PS. I bought an HP 27 inch monitor here on Amazon and created a nice little setup. $169. You’ll love the machine Don’t think twice just buy it. If you want some speed, I mean real speed just upgrade the RAM and the storage. I used crucial. That’s the brand name for the SATA and the RAM….. READ ABOUT THE UPGRADES….. You don’t want to perform Overkill. The processor wasn’t made for it. I’m no techie so I did a lot of reading before I did this.

Refund issues after twice returning same product. Purchased Acer laptop after a treasure truck alert for @ $300. The first one bluescreened after about a week of use. Restored to factory settings then updated and it blue screened a second time. I contacted Amazon and requested a replacement which was done very quickly. Received a replacement laptop and it again just after 2 days of use bluescreened again. I again per its instructions reset to factory specs, updated again and again… it blue screened. So that normally means there’s a flaw with the equipment. This time I requested a refund for that laptop and just chose a much better laptop which costed much more. I promptly return the laptop, got the confirmation it had been returned in the system per Amazon. Unfortunately Acer has not yet updated the refund request after at least 2-3 weeks that it had been received back in and checked. I also have not received any correspondence from Acer of the status of this issue. So be veeerry careful about that particular Acer laptop and the customer service issues with Acer. I’ve purchased Acer products previously without any issues and the replacement equipment I again purchased an Acer which I’ve had no issues with. But this isnt a very comforting response I’m getting from Acer’s customer service.**Updated 05/09/22** After I reached out to an Amazon representative they immediately offered a full refund. The representative was very helpful and within minutes the refund was processing.

You get what you pay for, in this case a slow laptop. This is one slow laptop. Finding wi-fi 10-15 seconds and then another 10 seconds to connect. Then after it’s connected 15-20 seconds to get Chrome to open. The only applications I have installed are MS Office 2019 and 2 browsers, Chrome and Edge. I added 8 gigabytes of DDR RAM thinking with 12 total gigs it would help speed it up but it didn’t, that was a waste of money. They must have used a really cheap motherboard for this laptop because compared to my Dell work laptop which is 4 years older, this ACER is a turtle.Lastly if you do opt for ACER make sure you get the backlit keyboard, I didn’t realize this one didn’t have it and in dim or no lighting it’s near impossible to see the lettered keys.

Aspire 5 -(515-56) Great speed. I bought the Aspire 5 to replace an old Asus slug laptop. It’s great to have a laptop that flies between apps and on the internet. Just what I was looking for in that regard. Would have given 5 stars but the audio jack does not work & the built in speakers are barely adequate. However the bluetooth works fine and fast with a wireless speaker(s). The hard drive is not huge but it can be upgraded if it comes to that. Overall, very happy with this laptop.

Its fast – everything on it works perfectly – its great for research. Its fast – everything on it works perfectly – its very easy to set up. It does come with a lot of factory installed stuff that I had to uninstall. But I think just about all computers are like that. It has fantastic AI capabilities and its a very nice computer for the price.

Excelente por el precio. Por el precio, los componentes son excelentes para una opción de 14 pulgadas con una tarjeta gráfica dedicada, capaz de correr juegos en general. No hay que esperar que tenga muy buen rendimiento en juegos AAA, pero es una muy excelente opción para trabajo/gaming casual.
