Excellent for times of “Food Sensitivity”. Had a scheduled surgery involving my mouth and the medical staff warned me I would have some extreme mouth sensitivity to flavors and hard/crunchy textures for a couple weeks. Basically I invested in this thing to help cook foods softer that I knew my mouth could handle and I could control both the seasoning and salt levels.>WHAT YOU NEED BEFORE PURCHASE:Invest in some great seasonings, (Ideally Salt Free) YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF.Flavor God and FitMenCook are my go to brands.>THE GREAT:It works and it works well. Because I was also away from work for a couple weeks, I basically played the game of “DOES IT STEAM?” You will be surprised what you can steam, the freshness of the food. My go to was soft fish and soft vegetables like carrots, cauliflower, sweet potato. I actually enjoyed the natural flavors of the food, without seasoning. However, as my mouth healed I started introducing flavors to keep me interested. It does a great job and steaming ground pork and beef! Great recipe over noodles or rice.THE GOOD:Size is pretty good. You can put enough food in here for more than one person or if you are meal prepping. I also like the double decker compacity to do more than one type of food item at a time. The heating picks up very quickly and your food cooks fast.THE NOT SO GOOD:Theres a small learning curve you will need to get use too. Alot of us know when food is done by look or smell. Since the cook baskets get foggy you cant rely on look unless you want to lift the lid which compromises the heat. (Not a major deal at all). Honestly it was nice playing around with different food variety. There is a guide which tells you how long certain food should cook so you wont go in blind.>My only gripe would be the cooking timer aesthetics. The numbers on the dial are black. They are very hard to see unless you are directly in front of dial or bend down. This is kind of a “set it and forget” type device so this isn’t a deal breaker but more of a final design flaw.>OVERALL:Great product to cook with, control your salt intake, eat healthier foods overall. My favorites items arefish, store bought dumplings, root vegetables, ground pork.

works well with lots of room to steam food; timer can’t be adjusted once set. I purchased this steamer after our old vegetable steamer finally bit the dust. My wife and I didn’t need more than a single-tier steamer, but I could not find one anymore, so I purchased this two-tier steamer. The steamer is big and has plenty of room for steaming pretty much anything you like. We use it mainly to steam cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots. It’s easy to clean and operate.My only complaint with this steamer is the built-in timer. The timer dial cannot be dialed back if you accidentally turn it beyond your desired time. So, if you do so, the timer cannot be adjusted, and you will have to mentally keep track of when to take out the food while the timer continues to run its course for whatever the set time was. It’s annoying, especially if you’re used to a timer that was specifically designed to be turned past the desired time and then turned back to it like our old steamer was. Also, the numbers on the timer are very small and difficult to read.Overall, if you’re cautious with the timer, this is a very good steamer at a very reasonable price. If it lasts as long as our prior steamer did, it should last a very long time.

DON’T FORGET TO CLEAN EVERY PART EVERY TIME. We steamed a bunch of dumplings and it worked well, though it’s a little tricky to get the correct amount of water into it. Suggest you figure out how much is needed and use a measuring cup to fill without having to look for some invisible max line. Unless you clean the area which holds the steaming water, and clean it completely, it will stop working….which is what happened to us. I’ll look for something easier to clean, if there is anything.

Great value. I use this steamer almost every night for dinner! I set a goal to eat healthier and this steamer has made it easy. Throw in any kind of seafood on the bottom level, and any kind of fresh/frozen veggies on the top level and voila: dinner is served!

Best yet. Once again Bella has made an awesome kitchen appliance. Cooks perfectly and the instruction booklets time frames work well. Cleaning was a breeze and it is very durable.

Timer dial not good, plastic not glass. The dial on the timer is small black numbers on chrome – unreadable unless you get your eye even with the timer and get the right light on it. I painted the dial white with appliance paint and used a sharpie to mark off the 5-minute marks, so problem solved. It is advertised as coming with glass baskets, but they are in fact plastic. This means putting them in a dishwasher will eventually crack them, which is what happened with our old steamer. So they need to be washed by hand. Actually, I prefer plastic because there is less danger of them shattering if you drop one. There are some bad reviews complaining that water gets all over and things won’t fit. There is a bottom basket and a top basket. If you put the top basket on first, the bottom basket will not fit on top of it. If you just use the top basket and the lid, then water will get all over the place, because the top basket is designed to drain into the smaller bottom basket. If you don’t use the water capture basket, the other baskets won’t fit. If you follow directions, everything fits and there is no water problem. Also, you CAN dial the time backwards, it just takes more pressure on the knob than to go forward, unlike my old steamer. The water addition tray works fine, and the water level indicator works fine and is very convenient. You just have to be careful when adding more water, because you might overflow the water capture basket. We have hard water here, so a couple of teaspoons of white vinegar in the water prevents calcium build up. I give it four stars because after fixing the dial problem, cleaning by hand, and following directions, it works fine.

Great steamer. First and foremost, let me say that I am not an expert in the kitchen. My stove and oven are used more for decoration than usefulness. I am more likely to use tabletop appliances. I have been using a crock pot, electric frying pan, and toaster oven for years. I ran across an article about how steaming vegetables can be a healthier alternative, so I began researching different types and I saw this one on Amazon. I thought I would give it a try. It was a great purchase. I have used it to steam different kinds of vegetables and I have even tried my hand at chicken and seafood. It is a wonderful product. I am very pleased with it. It came with a book of instructions and was specific to some different types of foods. This was very helpful. I am still learning about the amount time it takes for different foods as it varies. There was no assembly required and it is very easy to use. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an easier way to eat healthy.

It works! Merry Christmas To Me. This may be the best present I ever gave myself! With the intent of better health, I decided, at my Dr’s suggestion, to remove the carbs “breading” from some of my faves like chicken, fish, and shrimp. So I bought this Bella steam cooker, and boy! This thing delivered the goods bigtime! Took me all of 3 minutes to fill it with water, season the fish and shrimp with Fish Monger from Fire and Smoke Society and load it up. Set the timer for 20 minutes, and that’s it! The pics are exactly what it cooked, minus the lemon butter for dunking it in. 2 big Cod fillets and 12 ounces of extra large shrimp. All unthawed. Turned out perfect. And it could have held more. It runs very quiet. It does not steam up the entire kitchen. Nothing sticks so it is easy to clean up. Hey, if your looking for an easy way to make healthier dinners, that’s got some restaurant quality to them, you’ve found it! Go ahead. Add it to the cart. You won’t regret it…

Love this product. I absolutely love this steamer!! I use it regularly. So far, I’ve only steamed tamales and breadsticks, but they turn out amazing and delicious! Looking forward to slicing up some veggies and steaming them, along with some rice. And then maybe some fish.The pieces are all plastic. There is no glass nor ceramic. The top & bottom compartments are clear and you can easily see your food. The water heats up and steams quickly. Works well. The heating part does turn white if you have hard water, but can be easily cleaned with white vinegar or any food-safe cleaner.I definitely recommend this steamer for delicious, healthy meals!

It Delivers on what its made to do. This is the second steamer I purchased.. Its great and I would highly recommend it. I didn’t give 5 stars because Im sure there are things that can be improved like the element that heats it gets scale over time and doesnt function as well but I love it.. It works and I will get another when this stops working… For the price yes its worth.Cooking Ability- GoodSturdiness -GoodCook Time – GoodSize – Decent and good enough.

Want cooked food but you are too busy. Works well, good if you hate cooking and you want something you can just sit off to the side and cook while you work. You can’t really burn food in a steamer unless you try.
