  1. Terrific clipper: works efficiently and is painless for you and your pet. Nail cutting for dogs is always a difficult experience – both for you and your dog. My three pugs all have foot fears! None of them like their feet touched so it was always a wrestling experience trimming their nails. Each of them has different foot issues this nail clipper has solved: one has nails that grow faster than the other two put together; one has somewhat deformed feet, with her nails growing straight out; the third one has diabetes so his feet are sensitive and you cannot make a mistake so you cause bleeding! Between the three of them, I had given up nail trimming entirely (I had one of those awful guillotine cutters) and was paying $10 per dog to a groomer to trim their nails. This nail clipper from Epica solved that and has paid for itself several times over! This trimmer has a number of advantages over other trimmers, especially those common guillotine pet nail trimmers:1) the rubber on the handles make it easy to grip so you can hold it well and it won’t slip.2) It is ergonomically correct for your hands so you can use all your hand strength to easily cut those thick nails.3) It is sharp so you can go fast and fully cut through the nail on the first try. There is nothing worse than having to keep cutting the same nail over and over again because your cutter isn’t sharp enough – it’s like torturing the poor dog. When nail trimming a dog, speed is as important as accuracy!4) And, finally you can actually see what you are doing and where you are cutting (you can’t really see what you’re doing on those guillotine cutters). It even has a little guide on it to help you so you don’t go too far and cut into the nail quick. That makes it mistake proof … and when you make a mistake cutting a dogs nails and cause them pain and/or draw blood you have a disaster on your hands. Not only do they never want their nails cut again but, if they’re diabetic like one of my boys, you can cause major infections if you cause bleeding. This unit is exactly like the one the vet has — and now I’m equipped to cut nails as well as they are (and they charge even more than the groomer!). Thanks for this — it has really helped me care for my dogs. Now … if I could just get my 2 cats to just sit still for a nail trimming………….!

  5. ACTUALLY WORK- large dogs/thick nails. Photos for reference on how thick my dogs nails are. (I know the nails are still long, that’s because I haven’t been able to cut them for a while because I didn’t have good enough clippers. Now I’m nervous to cut them too short in one sitting so I do it in stages) I have large dogs with THICK black nails. I have been on the search for nail clippers that actually work and I finally found them!I have tried so many clippers that claim to be sharp and claim to be for large breed dogs and they are always terrible. I finally googled what the best ones were and found these as recommended for large breed dogs. So I ordered them. They are actually sharp and actually cut through the nails quickly! The only down side is the lock slips while you squeeze if you hold them a certain way but I just taped it so it would not move. Easy work around And I’m willing to put up with a little tape for sharp clippers that actually work! Some reviews say the clippers were awkward to home or too large for small hands. I didn’t have this issue. I am 5’4” so my hands are not large at all and I had no issues using these clippers. My dogs sat there quietly and allowed me to cut their nails. They usually let me cut them but it’s typically a struggle to get them to sit still. With these I had both large dogs done in 5 minutes total.

  6. Great for hard to clip thick nails. I have an elderly pug with really thick nails (almost as thick as my prior mastiff). But his feet are so much smaller and his nails curve so much that it’s difficult to get a lot of types of clippers to easily sever without pushing too much into his foot. He is quite old and has pretty bad arthritis, which all make having nail time not go great. But these clippers really changed the game. I was able to very easily and quickly snip through the nails without having to struggle to completely close the clippers (I have hand strength issues too, so that is definitely a factor in favor), and even those that curve sharply were cut easily. He clearly found it more comfortable than other clippers I have tried. I was completely done in about 8 minutes – all 4 paws. I mean, WOW. Game changer.

Fantastic. I have always had dogs. I currently have an 85lb. dog and a 12lb. one. Both freak out at nail trimming time, and I’m always so anxious that I’ll hit the quick. It’s still a 2 person situation in our house, but my husband and I were amazed at how much smoother nail clipping day went after we used these. The guard ensures you won’t clip too short so it goes so much faster, and neither the dogs nor I have to suffer the dreaded quick clip, which pains them physically and me emotionally! Fantastic product!

  8. Perfect. I have really crappy nail clippers that could barely make it through his nail so I bought these and was able to cut right through. The first real trimm he’s had in over a year and I can already see a difference. The only struggle was my dog being wiggly.

  9. Easy to use, and safe for pets. I have purchased several different nail clippers over the years, but this one is the best. They cut through easily, and the guide helps to make sure you don’t cut their nails too short.

  10. Works great. Trims my large dog’s nails easily.

  11. Sharp, screw-nut came loose quickly. 🙂 Product works well. Clip is sharp, slices with minimal crush. Grip is useful. Depth shield is conservative. My dog thinks it smells like a toy.:( Fasteners and depth shield became loose while clipping the second paw. So check before using. Maybe have cross screwdriver handy. Careful not to tighten it too much. Nice to know you can clean it properly after a while, I guess. My hound dog is a baby about getting his nails clipped. Being surprised while managing him myself was a set back. Tightened it myself, fortunately I had the size nut wench and cross screwdriver.

  12. Great Clipping Tool. I’ll admit, I was a bit apprehensive about taking on the task of trimming my older collie’s nails. She’s never been fond of having her feet handled, and I’ve always relied on our trusty groomer for this particular task. However, with recent bouts of agitation from our fur baby and a desire to take matters into my own hands, I decided to give these nail trimmers a try. Amazing!I must say, I’m pleasantly surprised by how well they work! The trimmers are sharp and precise, making quick work of the nail clipping process. Even for someone like me, who isn’t a professional groomer, the safety features built into these trimmers provided me with the confidence to tackle the job.Despite my initial hesitation, I’m genuinely pleased with this purchase. Not only does it save us trips to the groomer, but it also helps keep our collie’s nails in check without causing her undue stress. If you have a pet who isn’t fond of nail trims, I highly recommend giving these trimmers a try. They’ve been a lifesaver for both me and my sweet girl!

  13. It works well. Seems to be good quality, easy to use.

  14. Good clippers, sharp cut with no ouch. I’m not particularly competent at caring for my dog, but I am trying. She is a very large (over 100 lbs) dog. So I bought these clippers to try and trim some nails that got long. She’s not a huge fan of people messing with her toes but these were strong and sharp enough that I was eventually able to trim her nails one at a time by sneaking up on her while she napped and quickly clipping it before she realized what was going on. And it worked great. These clippers got em with a snip. I’m happy with em.

  17. This works so well im surprised. This works so well im surprised. The price is good the colors are cute, its very durable and sturdy easy to use, good grip doesnt slip. Works really smooth too. My 4 y.o dog is scared of getting his nails trimmed so I take him to petco but this worked so well he was relaxed the whole time no stress. Very happy would purchase again.

  19. Awesome. Got these to use for my Great Pyrenees. He hates getting his nails done but plus he still has his double dew claws that can be a little tricky to get. These worked great and since I wasn’t trying to get the nail tip into a circle like my usual clippers it was so much faster using these. He obviously has large and thick nails due to his breed and size and these worked great. Should be no trouble on a smaller dog. I actually did try them out on my cat and they worked for her too. Great price and easy to use too.

  20. Good quality. These work a lot better than the guillotine type. They were very sharp, had a safety guard & were easy to use. I recommend these!!

  21. Heavier duty than the others. This was probably my 4th clipper purchased and I can definitely say this is the one that beat the others. It is heavier duty, the lobster claws work much better than the other types with a sliding blade.I have a medium sized dog and this clipper is more than enough to handle her nails. They seem well built, sturdy and more than sharp enough. I’ve had these for 5 months and not a single complaint, except that it doesn’t come with someone who does the clipping for me.

  22. Excellent nail clipper. Has not failed me once. Sharp and great for trimming my dogs nails. The design is good, and grip/handles are comfortable.I do not use the shield when trimming my dogs nails as she is trained to keep still.

  23. slightly loud but cut well. They do seem a little loud when they cut but they are sharp and effective.

  24. Heavy duty. English Bulldog approved. These are heavy duty nail clippers. Very sharp. They have a nail guard that can be repositioned out of the way or left in place so only a short amount of nail can be clipped at a time. If your doggo is a paw jerker, this can be very handy. The spring is a good stiffness and does not feel light or frail. The locking mechanism to keep the jaws on the clipper closed works well. Good nail trimmers… well made…

  25. Sharp and sturdy. Great product ! Worth the price
