  1. Mild for me but a supplement I will keep on hand. First off, everyone is different and all our brains react differently to supplements. Many reviewers of this noticed a difference within hours of the first dose. For me, I felt I had to let it build up in my system for a few weeks but I definitely notice a difference!Overall mood is improved. Calm but not tired or anything. Didn’t give me the huge energy boost that some people claim, but I feel more mentally clear. The most prominent effect this supplement had on me was memory. I’m 20 years old and had some drinking problems a while back, and this supplement makes me have the memory I should, and sometimes I almost laugh at how well I can remember something that happened several weeks ago (often more of a photographic memory interestingly enough). All in all, I took this everyday sometimes twice a day for 3 weeks straight and now take it once every other day. I find it’s best to take right as you wake up, on an empty stomach with a daily vitamin then eat 20 to 30 minutes later. This supplement won’t work for everyone but considering 5-htp didn’t do crap for me and Rhodiola did, I guess anything’s possible! Would recommend.

  3. Wow. I am a 39 year old female nursing student with fibromyalgia. Yes, I must have lost my mind. I have heard of this supplement for years now to help with fibro but couldn’t find it in stores. I began taking 1000mg per day. I didn’t expect much because things just don’t work out well in the supplement world for true fibro patients. I expected to if anything, have a slight reduction in pain upon stress. This is an herbal stress adaptogen. That means that it is reported to help your body handle stress. I am under a great deal of that with school, family, etc. What happened was impressive. I’ve had this about a week, so haven’t noticed pain relief yet. However, after two days, I had to go do a presentation at school. I suffer near panic attacks anytime I have to speak in front of a group. I flush, sweat, start shaking, get confused, am emotional and will usually have a hypoglycemic episode afterwards. Just thinking about it will make me have butterflies and a free-fall feeling followed by increased heart-rate. That being said, I went and did my presentation (which I considered taking a zero on to not have to do it) and did not suffer one symptom. NOT ONE! Even my instructor was surprised because I had warned her. Everyone around me was a wreck, even the ones who said they weren’t nervous.I have also noticed that I am handling the day to day stress much better! The work-load normally will put me into fits. Instead, I have handled it calmly. Hopefully it will eventually help a bit with pain. but I will take this from here on out simply because it has made such a difference. I truly expected it to end up in the back of my cabinet with all of the other supplements. I had tried Ashwaganda too, but it caused increased acne outbreaks. I have told so many about this, because just having that one presentation without panic, will reset my thinking in the future and reduce anxiety in the future.

  4. Solid product for boosting mental and physical energy. I think rhodiola rosea might be one of the more underappreciated supplements out there. It isn’t a miracle worker for me, but I have noticed a notable increase in both mental and physical energy whenever I take this product – typically about 1-2 weeks after daily usage.I’ve found best results for mental and physical energy when I combine rhodiola with l-theanine and caffeine. It is a nice long lasting energy without too many jitters. As always NOW provides a good quality product at an affordable price. Definitely worth checking out to see if it has positive effects for you as well.

it seems like more energy than that which I get from the. Rhodiola is supposedly effective in improving energy levels, mostly in combating stress-related fatigue, and I’m always tired, so I gave it a shot.I’m incredibly skeptical of the supplements because manufacturers will say anything they to sell a product, and the lack of regulation in the industry just about gives them a free pass to do so. Most evidence backed supplements are so severely under-dosed that they’re hardly worth more than a sugar pill. Thus, when taking these, I’ve attempted to be as scientific as possible. The first check was making sure that the capsules gave an effective dose, and each of these is dosed a bit above median range for the effective dose found in various studies (from examine.com: Acute usage of rhodiola for fatigue and anti-stress has been noted to be taken in the 288-680mg range). While I obviously can’t do a double-blind studies because I’m the only participant in the study, I’ve controlled variables as well as possible. On similar sleep, and similar food intake, rhodiola gives me a reasonable energy boost. If I eat the pill while drinking coffee, it seems to produce a weak synergistic effect: it seems like more energy than that which I get from the combination of rhodiola alone and coffee alone (if rhodiola gives +1 energy, and coffee gives +2 energy, I’d anticipate +3 energy from combining them, but it feels like +3.5 or 4).NOW is a reputable brand, and Nutri Catalog easily had the best prices at the time, so I went with these, and they’ve done exactly what I hoped.

  7. A Great Nootropic for My ADHD. I decided to try this to assist with my adult ADHD, TBI, and PTSD; as I’ve traditionally done well with anything that hits my norepinephrine receptors, but find that most medications are too strong for me at even their lowest dose.Within a few days this is giving me the same mental focus and energy boost that I had with Wellbutrin but without feeling of being over medicated, or the side effects like migraines or brain zaps as it works on my system. It doesn’t seem to hit my focus hard, but it seems to be helping with my ability to switch between tasks and my overall motivation to push through my ADHD issues with executive functioning. An added bonus is that I immediately stopped stress eating, and haven’t felt as stressed from work or studying. I also generally feel more content/cheerful; again very similar to when I was on Wellbutrin.I doubt this will be a panacea for everyone; nootropic herbs are, just like many psychiatric drugs, only going to effective for certain conditions and neurotransmitter based problems. But if you happen to need something that’s going to work on balancing your norepinephrine and dopamine, this is probably a pretty safe bet.

  10. Been taking Rhodiola for over twenty years. I’ve been taking Rhodiola, on and off, for over twenty years. After reading many, many articles about it and its adaptogenic properties, including some in the National Library of Medicine, I decided to try it. I was feeling tired with little energy for anything and tried to pinpoint the cause. Some kind of vitamin deficiency? Thyroid problem? Granted, my work situation and commute, like for many people, could be stressful. Started taking it and realized that I no longer was tired or stressed. I felt “normal.” And that’s what this supplement does for me – it makes me feel “normal.” In other words, I don’t feel like I’m taking some kind of stimulant, or anything for that matter. I don’t feel like I’ve taken anything – just have the feeling of not being tired. As an added bonus, it appears to help me with sleep, too. So, here’s a thumbs-up for Rhodiola. There’s definitely something to it. I have recommended this my friends, and they have reported also that there’s a definite uptick of energy and well-being, but not like a cup of coffee. The well-being sneaks up on you and you don’t realize you’ve taken anything; you just feel good!Update for 2024: I stopped taking Rhodiola for about six months. After that time period, I decided to take it again, but made the mistake of buying another brand (which I won’t mention here) that did not work as before with the NOW supplement. It made me jittery and in a bad mood. MMmm … stopped taking it and went back to “old faithful” – the one that had worked for so long, originally starting maybe 15+ years ago – NOW Rhodiola. Suffice it to say that it’s working just fine. I feel “normal” again and not tired and dragging. Exercise came much easier and sleep has again vastly improved. Well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I should have never gone with the other brand, which was a little cheaper. Cheaper doesn’t, as we know, mean better!

  13. These REALLY help my with stress and emotional regulation. With guidance of my health care provider, I chose to stop taking my antidepressant and try alternative therapy. I began taking these 48 hrs after going off Zoloft/ Sertraline (tapered down as directed). I notice a HUGE difference with these. ***Rhodiola helps just as much, if not more, than the prescription medication.*** I accidentally forgot these when I went out of town for 2 days and within 24 hrs of skipping my dose I started feeling off… by 48 hrs I was crying, angry, an emotional wreck. I took one immediately when I got home and within an hour or so I felt the fog lift and have been back to normal since. It’s unbelievable unless you experience it yourself. I also attend therapy sessions with a counselor, full disclosure on my success story. For reference, I take one per day, immediately upon waking on an empty stomach.NOTE: Please read above and note that I made this switch with my health care providers guidance and supervision. I would not recommend doing this on your own.Lastly, I have not had any side effects that I am aware of after taking the Rhodiola for 6 weeks.

Works well. Taking one each morning on empty stomach.Began to use 48 hours after quitting 5.5 years of daily 40mg fluoxetine.Does it work? 1000%. Works amazingly. No more prescription drugs for me. Should’ve taken this from day one almost 6 years ago.To be fair I also use vitamins and minerals. So everything is working well together. No problem at all cold turkey quitting the meds. Feeling better by the day.

  15. Perimenopause and menopause. Perimenopause and menopause are no joke for some of us out there. I could tell a significant difference in my motivation and mood when I took this. I scanned Amazon for years through this time of life looking for anything that would help and thanks to the reviews, found this. I definitely think it’s worth a try!

  16. Great for anxiety. I love this product for helping control anxiety and this potency is perfect. If you need a higher dose start with one capsule and work your way up to avoid any side effects.

  17. Great for endurance. Heard about this on Huberman’s podcast. It seems to help a lot with workouts

  18. ok. ok

NOW Rhodiola Rodiola Rosea 500 mg. Great product. I’ve been taking this for years. With all the horrible things that have happened in the last 4 years this product has helped. I will continue to take this as long as I can.

  20. Affordable and effective. The media could not be loaded. So far very happy with it. Keep in mind that you have to take it for about a month to feel any difference. I am finishing up a bottle (2 months) and I feel so much better. My mood is pretty steady and no more low days. I take one capsule a day.
