1.5 years later, a eulogy for bone conduction. So this is going to be a weird review, but I really feel like I need to share this. For anyone thinking of buying into bone conduction, the Shokz brand is the only one worth considering. They are a flawed piece of tech that me and my partner fell in love with, they are the perfect headset for a certain kind of person, they are also likely the last of their kind.Let’s start by talking about the openrun pro:Sound quality – 7/10 they excel in the vocal ranges, and the pro models have slightly enhanced bass. not the best you can get but more than acceptable. the sound feels like it just plays in your head, allowing you to still hear your environment while enjoying music and especially podcasts. There is some noise bleed but it’s pretty reasonable.comfort – 10/10 there’s absolutely nothing like them. They wrap around your head and loop over your ears perfectly. You’ll forget they’re even on half the time.battery life – 10/10 they get a laudable 8 hours of battery life but crucially they recharge insanely fast. you can throw them on their special charger for a few minutes and get a solid 2 hours of life.build quality – 8/10 They feel extremely premium and durable, the proprietary cable is excellent, the case is beyond excellent. I used them as a workhorse for a year and a half before they finally started to deteriorate. The case eventually came apart a bit and the headphones themselves finally started breaking at the contact between the headband and the speaker. With slightly more care they could definitely last two years as a workhorse or much longer with less wear. In the end the software broke on me, it’s possible that could be fixed but not without a data transfer interface which these do not have.So why am I writing this review now?well I certainly recommend you get a pair if you’re at all interested, but the real reason I’m writing this and why I’ve titled it a eulogy is because Shokz has just released its new earbuds, and they’re awful.I cannot be certain but based on my experience with this industry it looks like the openrun pro is the best, and last bone-conduction headset we’ll ever see.The new earbuds contain none of the excellent 9th-generation tech that gave this brand its name, they are instead a mediocre derivative of the ever-popular wireless earbuds, only they offer the same quality as the openrun. There’s every possibility that Shokz continues developing bone-conduciton but a huge part of me doubts that.I won’t be buying a replacement pair, I’m far too jaded to think that I can wait it out with another pair of pros and expect a future generation to replace them.PS. if Shokz PR sees this and wants to disabuse me of my misgivings I’d be more than happy to hear it, but somehow I doubt they will, and some part of me doubts it’d be true even if they did.
I tried a pair of these headphones at the airport just to pass some time and they sounded pretty good and fitted my head ok.I was surprised how they work as I was optimistic on the design in the past.I was impressed 👌 and I didn’t purchase at the airport as they were somewhere around £150 mark I am a bit tight lol.I looked at the reviews whilst on holiday sitting around the pool and decisions were made for my own birthday gift to myself so I decided on the pro version as the app was available for those ( little did I know the app doesn’t have all the settings it says it has fir the pro version bass control ? Just the basic voice and music flick of which can be done on the headphones) I’ve read that the call on phone via headphones has been improved but I’ve not used yet and not top of my list. The case that comes with the headphones moulded to the head set and very light and small blooming fabulous 👌.Comes with a headband? WTF ? I’ve not a lot of hair lol. Stops sweat I guess.Charging is easy magnetic fitting seems to work OK.Turning on and off voice is a bit soft and off sounds like on but that’s my deafness I think.Great it tells uou battery high medium or low but I’d rather have it telling me % left more idea.I’ve charged once and I guess 4hr use so far I chose yhe pro as is 10hrs use and charge of 10 min gives 1 hrs use in emergency rather than the next model down only 8hrs use.Still going on its first charge yey.I’ve brought for wearing whilst kayaking but on flat water only I think the sea water will destroy them in no time.Sweat 😓 I read they tell you if vapour is detected and you wipe down after a workout with damp cloth then ensure contact is dry before charging.Phone app is bit crap but uou can connect to phone to listen to music etc really fast 😅 I use with a Samsung s21ultra works faultlessly I’m impressed. The sound is great and I listen to vloggs on utube and it’s really good.Feels strange on the ear sometimes vibrating but you get used to it.Some say makes you feel strange or ill?I’ve not had this certainly is a different kind of listening experience for sure. Sounds great.£134 on amazon special deal 👌 for pro version I took it immediately.I can listen to my surroundings just about they can leak a bit of music but not much they are really good I’m glad I purchased them.I’d buy again and tell friends to buy.Bit pricey but they do have cheaper ones similar spec.Cons Wish the app fir them was better on what control you can have.. voice on then is annoying..Pros. Brilliant glad I purchased for my birthday present. Great sound great fit all round great last for hours.Go buy…
You Can’t Go Wrong. I have used Shokz earbuds since when the company was known as Aftershokz. I have purchased over 4 models and own over 5 pairs of their products. I’m no the type of person to be loyal to a product as a zealot. I stay loyal to a product as long as it is the number 1 product for myself. I average purchasing 3 ear pieces a year in my endeavor to use and keep the best earbuds.I’ve strayed trying other products but I had stayed with Shokz because of the quality of their products. Another reason I kept trying other products was that up until the Shokz OpenRun came along, there was no multipoint pairing support. You could have your device paired with many other devices, but couldn’t be on your computer listening to music and then click answer when your phone ringed until OpenRun. My family and friends benefit from my earbud quests because what I don’t like I don’t keep. I give them to my family and friends. They noticed that I had never given none of my Shokz products. I let them try them out and now 3 of my relatives and two of my friends have purchased Shokz products.I wrote all that to say that after using these earbuds for 10 months they have truly earned my respect. Now, I wouldn’t recommend lying down or going to sleep wearing this headset, but otherwise using then for every other personal or professional activities I will say you will have no buyers remorse. The sound is great and if I am in an environment that is extremely too distracting to hear music or a conversation, I put in my ear plugs and this makes me happy. You have to understand that noise on that level should have ear plugs, regardless.Another thing I enjoy is the noise cancellation. People are able to hear me very well. I deliver mail and most earphones are useless to me when I am delivering mail on a busy street. I’ll normally have to end the call or pause my music. I don’t have that issue with this headset.
Exercise Headphones with great battery life. I’ve get so much more exercise, studying, and phone conversations done with these headphones! These are great bone conduction headphones! They have excellent battery life and there’s an audible voice (English) that will tell you how much battery power is left in the headphones when they’re turned on. I’ve only run out maybe once. That being said, these headphones don’t actually cover your ear, so they work best in environments with low to medium noise. Sometimes that can be plus when you need to pay attention to your surroundings (for example at night). As long you understand where they work well, they’re awesome!Use Case 1: Exercise – These are excellent because they’re clean, nothing to stick in your ear and can be cleaned with a little bit of hand soap and water. While exercising, these are great for podcasts and motivational music. I use these in the gym and outside. Only issues are when I’m next to a road and there’s a loud truck or group of motorcycles riding by.Use Case 2: Studying – These work best in quiet coffee shops or libraries with light conversation in the background. I usually put on some non-vocal electronic. These won’t block out the sound of a TV, so I’ve found I needed different headphones to avoid those distractions.Use Case 3: Phone Calls – Great for phone calls in light to medium noise environments. They work well in a home or quiet office. I usually have these on and go for a walk outside.Tips: I bought the Hermitshell case for this and some of the longer after market charging cables. Background: I bought the standard after using the sizing guide on the manufacturer’s website. I’ve never installed the app for the firmware update, so I’m using it with the original as-shipped software.
O produto atende às expectativas bem como a descrição do vendedor Chegou em tempo habil e o vendedor foi atencioso em todas as orientações Para o recebimento da mercadoria em face da retenção na alfândega recomendo tanto o produto quanto o vendedor.
They sound good and stay on. Are they as good as earbuds… that depends. Overall, the sound is very good… not as good as in-the-ear buds, but at lower volumes and around the house, for most types of music they are great… a little muffled at times, but very good. Mowing the lawn… also pretty good. Balancing sound coming in from the environment vs the music takes a little doing and you end up blocking out a lot of the environment, but not as much as with traditional buds. Speech isn’t quite as good but it can be enhanced a tiny bit with an app setting. It’s good enough for phone calls and podcasts. The big difference is that these things stay PUT no matter what you’re doing – they don’t slip out, they aren’t affected by sweat, jarring… nothing and that is why I bought them. I got so sick of constantly trying to cram buds back in my sweaty ears as they slowly (or quickly) slide out. These things just stay on. BTW, the sizing is dead on – super glad I went for the smaller size, because the loop behind my head doesn’t get hit or pushed around. They are also comfortable – I’ve worn them for hours at a time – and the battery life is better than my Samsung buds. At higher volumes, they vibrate your skin in a tickly/buzzy way, but given what they are, that’s expected. I haven’t felt the need to turn them up THAT high anyway as the volume is sufficient for things like mowing the lawn and vacuuming where I’m intentionally trying to drown out the machine. Zero regret purchase. Oh, and I saw some complaints on the charging system in other reviews, but I LIKE their proprietary, magnetic system. I just super don’t care if I have to carry another cord… I’m already carrying, like, three of them anyway for my watch, phone, and whatever, so what’s one more?
These are awesome. I cycle and run. Sometimes on longer rides I would like a little, something. Music, talk, a distraction.Pros- battery life is great. I have used these out on jobs while I work. Have run them all day long, 8-10 hours on a lower volume setting and they worked all day. They fit great and are very easy to use once you remember the buttons so you can reach up and adjust them.I have used them while walking through a store and chatting on the phone. Have not had any complaints about people not being able to hear me.Out on bike rides they are good. From zero mph to around 20mph you can hear them. This also depends on the wind, meaning not the wind from you riding but Mother Nature. Above 20mph they get difficult to hear. If you’re listening to a playlist you know then you can pick out parts and know what you’re listening to. I tried listening to a podcast and above 20mph I had no idea what they were talking about.Running, they stay in place, don’t bounce around. They come with a headband but I have never used it. There are no issues with hearing anything while running.I also like these because it doesn’t block you ear canal and I can clearly hear my bike computer yelling at me when my bike radar detects a car coming from behind. I can hear the car approaching as well. You can have a conversation with people while using them but I tend to block out their voice and concentrate on the music. I do have to turn the volume down so I don’t get distracted from the conversation.Value for the money, well, they are pricey but compared to say, iPods or similar good quality ear pieces I think these are on par with other brands. I cannot speak on durability as I intentionally do not abuse them, throw, drop, kick, sling them in any way. For what I do they have held up well.If you ride, run or walk I would recommend looking into the these.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve used these for running for several months now and I just love them. I was not sure what to expect but I could not ask for more!~ This stays on my head no matter what. No matter how long I’ve been running, no matter how sweaty I get.~ I don’t have anything annoying stuck in my ear as with ear pods.~ I definitely feel safer. Because this sits in front of your ear and does not block your ear so I can still hear what is happening around me while privately enjoying my music.~ Very comfortable. Does not squeeze my head nor move around at all. Actually I don’t even feel them. Perfect!~ Reliably and easily connects with my phone every time. I then use Spotify for my music but of course you could use whatever.~ The sound is excellent. Some have commented on that the volume was too low. That’s not been my experience at all. It has a very good volume range with the volume button and using my iPhone.~ It comes with a hard protective case. Great for traveling with it!** I did purchase a lower model (Shokz AfterShokz OpenMove) at the same time… it did not feel as secure on my head and the sound was not quite as good. As well the lower model did not have a hard protective case. So of course I had to go with the more expensive one! How does that always happen?! Haha
Had my doubts, but it turned out good. I like earbuds for their low cost and good sound quality. I decided to try these at the suggestion of a coworker. I work in the front office of a manufacturing facility. These headphones do well in the office for what I call “elevator music mode,” it’s low but just always there and I can hear things around me. I think they do well for multiple styles of music from classical to heavy metal and rap. The bass is better than I thought it would be and, surprisingly, I have noticed vocals are easier to understand than with earbuds I have tried. Here’s a use case I discovered that the manufacturer might not have considered: these headphones work extremely well with ear plugs. When I go on the manufacturing floor I can hear my music clearly while wearing my earplugs. The tone isn’t quite right compared to a stereo or ear buds, but it’s still darn good. And the safety man can’t grumble at me for not wearing PPE.There’s a downside to wearing these with earplugs. Usually you can hear things around you even with earplugs, but with music on top of that you can’t hear anything. So be careful. I suppose it’s good if you stay in one area on the assembly line, but they do make walking around a bit more tricky. The good thing about wearing earplugs is the volume doesn’t have to be turned up very much for the music to sound loud. I’ve frequently had battery life exceed 10 hours since I rarely play music over 50% volume during the day. They’re also very convenient for phone calls. No one has had trouble hearing me on the phone, and I can do other stuff while talking. These headphones beat any other earpiece I’ve ever had.One last thought, range is very good. I can get around 50 feet from my phone while listening to music in free air (no obstructions… walls, etc). They will maintain a connection for a good distance beyond what is capable of audio transmission and resume playing when coming back into range. Oh, and they are comfortable. I wear them all day, even when they are not playing, with no problems. The price is a bit high, but I’d replace them with an identical set without any thought (I mean, assuming I have the money).
Nice sound quality and comfortable. For those times when it’s either frowned upon or unwise to retreat behind your buds or muffs to block out the incessant chatter around you in favor of your auditory entertainment choice, these bone conduction head phones offer a surprisingly good solution. These are lightweight and comfortable, even while wearing my glasses. I got the beige color thinking it would be more discrete, but if I had it do over, I would probably get the black color. The beige makes me feel like I’m wearing bandaids on both sides of my face. Color choice aside, I’m impressed with the sound quality and comfort of the headphones. They are a bit expensive. These are the first bone conduction headphones I’ve owned, so I can’t say if less expensive alternatives are as good or even close. I’m happy with these. The controls are easy to learn and access. The pause, play, next song, phone answer button is on the left, and volume, on/off buttons are on the right. They are easy to find and use. The pause button is not quite fast enough to pick the first sentence from someone talking to you. This is easily remedied with a “pardon?” or a “huh?”, and sometimes the interruption goes away when they notice you sticking your finger in your ear while pretending to look for the pause button. Speaking of sticking things in your ear, these bone conduction headphones have the distinct advantage of being immune from clogging with ear wax, and there are know little rubber goobers to get stuck in your ear or be lost outright. Nice product. I’m happy with them.
Great product! Awesome sound quality. Comfortable. Easy to use. Highly recommend.
