Smelly, but decent quality for the price. Things to keep in mind when reading my review: I’ve recently gotten back into makeup so I’m currently still experimenting and learning. My face is oily with some texture.What I like about it:Price point is hard to beat. I got my shade for $3.It’s vegan and cruelty free, which is important to me. I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise.The color I got is an amazing match for my skin. I’m very pale and historically it’s been hard to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. This one looks perfect to me.Another thing I like is that it really evens out my skin tone and it’s buildable coverage wise.Feels okay on the face. I haven’t noticed any irritation yet and my sensitive skin appreciates that.After it fully dries it doesn’t seem to transfer very much.What I don’t like:The smell. I’m sensitive to smells. I prefer to wear unscented makeup for that reason. If I had realized this had a fragrance, I would not have bought it. Another reviewer said this smells like baby powder and grandma. They were right. It really gives “old lady.” Which is totally fine, but it’s not my thing. Maybe if the fragrance was barely there I wouldn’t mind it, but I still wonder why they even put fragrances in makeup anyways.It really seems to highlight my texture which is not a look I was going for. Maybe if I primed my face with something before this foundation it wouldn’t be an issue, however, I am more of a foundation minimalist (I typically don’t wear any foundation at all) so I was hoping to be one and done.I’ve only been wearing it for around 45 minutes and my oily-ness is already starting to come through.I want to leave it on longer to see how it holds up in a few hours, but the scent is making my eyes and nose water, so I’m afraid I have to wash it off before I can find out the longevity.Overall:It’s probably a great starter foundation, but please make it unscented.
Value priced, the finish looks high end. Ive tried 3 different colors so far and they were all a simi matte finish wurhout being dry at all,. Ive tried Snow, Pearl and Beige. Pearl and Snow are Gorgeous i wear porcelain in other brands so i tried those first and they are beautiful! I needed something a tiny bit darker to use because if some lotion that darkens the skin slowly over several applications but Beige for me even a tiny tanned was way to dark but thats a personal choice. The finish is gorgeous ! It stays put and looks amazing all day! Its such a great price at i believe around 6 dollars. Elf has been hiding these from me. This is my new everyday foundation i have always used it with setting spray. I only lightly powder under the eyes n u use the elf HD poweder. It plays well with all my other powder products so far n its a Hodge podge of brands! So far 6 dollars you cant go wrong giving Elf another look! You wont be disappointed. I have older dru skin and im in my 50s that tells you its harder to find foundations that look good on my skin without being cakey if that helps
Great coverage, but a little thick. e.l.f. products never cease to amaze me, this foundation included! I’ve literally tried all of the drugstore brands, and I find myself re-ordering this again and again.I would recommend using a damp beauty blender to apply, because the formula is a bit on the thicker-side. That being said, the coverage is great and it does seem to spread pretty well and evenly. Also, despite the ticker formulation, it doesn’t get “cakey” and lasts throughout my whole work day. I’d recommend this product for anyone who wants a decent amount of coverage (say, more than a BB or CC cream).
My New Favorite. I’m a woman who rocks the no makeup look all the time, so when I wear a full face of makeup it’s kind of once in a blue moon. With that being said, I’m pretty picky when it comes to foundation because I don’t like how heavy it feels. I swatched the foundation because in the bottle it looked way lighter than my skin tone. So I was a little scared. But it proved me wrong and it actually matched well! And it goes on very nice! It leaves a nice dewy/satin look on your skin and it does not feel heavy at all! A little goes a long way too! I would say this is my absolute favorite foundation and it won’t break the bank. I recommend going a shade up or at least get a shade that looks as close to your skin tone. You just need to remember undertones play a big role in what shade you get so that’s why I always tend to get nervous when buying foundation. This will not disappoint!
Great for older skin. I typically don’t use foundation, because it tends to make me look 10 years older, but this did not at all!! It’s a really nice sheer coverage, and not at all cakey. Has a nice soft finish that looks very natural. I did find it a touch drying, but with a moisturizer underneath I had no problems with that. Definitely recommend for anyone over 40!
I should have known better. I got a sweet deal on two different shades of these so I bought them for my other half for her birthday but realized after I got them they weren’t going to work but she said she’d try one of them and see. Well they’re both in the bathroom shelf collecting dust. Will probably be thrown outBut she did say that they are nice and are a good kind but just not her color. Oh well I tried

Only because my beauty struggle in life has been finding the right shade for me. And this time my struggle overpowered my cheapness, lol. So I order the product and lo and behold. It’s true. It matched me flawlessly. The only thing is that the coverage is for younger people. It’s thick and drying and I’m old, thats not gonna work for me. So I returned it, but now that I had that knowledge in my arsenal of knowing what shade fit me, I went online and found a website called Findation . com that matches you with your same shade in almost any other brand, to other other brands. It pulled this one up and knowing ELF is affordable, I figured I’d start with this one. I’ve never used ELF foundations and sure enough my shade was not sold in most stores :/ . So I ordered here and tried it. It ALSO matched perfectly!! It has light, silky, buildable coverage great for my skin. The whole time I had been using more orange based foundations, not knowing I actually had a cool pink undertone. The only drawback is, although I’m older, I’m not 80, and the smell reminds me of the cheap perfume Grandma wore in the 80s only because it was cheap. I’ll try it for a while and see if I can stand the smell, but it does stay on the product for about an hour after applying, so if it bothers me enough ill finish this bottle but go back onto the website and find the next affordably priced foundation.So for anyone else that has had this struggle, take one of those new online quizzes to find your right shade like on Il Makiage, take your match and go to Findation . com, and choose a brand that you are comfortable spending your money on. Amazingly good for the price. This Foundation does exactly what it claims. It is a satin finish with medium coverage that is truly buildable. It doesn’t feel oily or waxy. It works well with or without setting spray. Or primer. And I found a near perfect shade match. I’ve tried dozens of foundations, some of them six times the price of this one, and nothing else compares. It’s also breathable, crease resistant, and has a pleasant texture. Lasts all day
Awful smell. I’m not huge on makeup. I got this product to use it occasionally when I go out. I do not have much experience with liquid foundation so I cannot compare it to anything ,however, I can say the coverage is nice and smooth and doesn’t feel heavy. The smell is AWFUL, it smells like cheap lipstick from the early 90s…. I put this foundation on at home to try it out and could not stand 20 min because I kept smelling that scent which is super strong. I also had an issue with this foundation’s packaging. While i received it intact, when I took the cap off, the foundation was inside the cap. I requested a replacement. Second item had the exact same issue. The smell was the same so I just gave up and returned it.

Great Coverage. I love this foundation its great for all skin types, it looks great and has a good consistency. It is kinda thick and offers full coverage so if you don’t want this kinda coverage this may not be for you.

I’m fair skinned and starting to get a little redness on my chin and nose and have chronic dark circles around my eyes. I am very much into a natural makeup look and keep things simple, focusing mostly on my skin care regimen. However, this changed everything. It is buildable but can be put on light enough that it just blends so well into my skin. The satin finish is absolutely perfect and gives me a hydrated glow that looks so natural. I will now actually wear this on a regular basis, which I would have never thought I’d do with any foundation. I was even able to pick the right color online which is a miracle, but it matches perfectly! Finally, the price is the absolute best part. I was even starting to consider some very expensive foundations as options to try and this was my last effort with the affordable ones and man I’m so glad I did!

Very orange. I ordered the color 310 custard and it looked like it had a nice tan to it in the photos here on amazon, but when I received it it’s extremely Orange and very dark. Think former president and that’s the color. I can’t use it as a foundation as it’s definitely not the right color for me but it does work as a bronzer. Really nice for contouring of the neck and then toning down with a lighter foundation or a BB cream. I feel like if I could get the correct color that it would be a really good foundation. And it also has a very pleasant smell to it.

Flawless coverage that lasts. This foundation is the truth! The coverage and color is amazing. I love how it can be easily applied. It is smooth and buildable, feels lightweight, and lasts all day without looking cakey. I’m very satisfied with the results! My skin looks flawless every time.
Nice finish but causes breakouts. The coverage was great and smooth. It has a very faint but pleasant smell. However, for someone who doesn’t have sensitive skin.. this tore my face up. I got pimples everywhere. I use the concealer so I wouldn’t imagine this being an issue but it definitely was.
Perfect. This foundation is wonderful. The formula is as good as a high end luxury foundation. I have used so many bottles of this, and no matter how many other foundations I try, I always go back to this one. Sadly elf is discontinuing this product and it has been replaced by the Soft Glam Satin Foundation, that it is also good but not better than this one.I love how it blends super easy. It has a medium coverage that you can build and it really lasts all day without breaking in certain spots or looking patchy. I have combo skin that is acnee prone and it makes my skin look flawless. It covers all imperfections, yet it looks very natural and it feels ligh on the skin. It is perfect and the price is incredible. Get it while you can….this is a gem
I love Elf. Was looking for talc-free make up. Bingo! Elf fits the bill and it’s so cheap! Was shocked to find that it’s also high quality. Saving money and getting safer, better make up! This is a no brainer.
Great coverage, light, and non-drying. My foundation, that I used for years, was discontinued. I have been doing without for a long time, mostly because it is a pain to look for new makeup.I like what I read about the e.l.f. products and thought I’d give it a try. What I LOVED most is that the small tubes and jars are the perfect “try me” size and very affordable. Great marketing strategy. I was able to buy 6 different shades so I could try them at home. I was actually surprised at how much foundation is in each tube and jar.I guess that I chose wisely because most of the shades I picked would have worked, but the best was the “Pearl” shade. I have light green undertones to my skin. This shade helped even out my skin and give it a consistent tone. I used my regular face cream a few minutes before applying the makeup and it went on so smoothly, without feeling cakey or dry. It lasted all day, in hot weather, and I still had a “glow” to my skin. It worked really well with my powdered blush.I have slightly oily skin, but do not like the feel of matte foundation. This foundation was a great compromise for my skin type.This will be the foundation I use forever…or until they discontinue it.
Great Coverage and Lightweight Feel – Excellent Value Foundation. I’m really impressed with this e.l.f. foundation. It provides great coverage while still feeling lightweight on the skin. The finish looks smooth and natural, not cakey at all. It blends easily and lasts throughout the day without feeling heavy. The price is very affordable for the quality you get. I would definitely recommend it and purchase it again!
E.L.F will always always make a lotus flower bloom. I absolutely love ELF this foundation was a winner unfortunately, I chose one shade too dark so I could only use it apparently, but the coverage was phenomenal, especially under the bags and in my eyes I highly recommend all elf products they’re affordable through high-quality and the best part is once you’ve done your make up you feel absolutely beautiful
