Bose QuietComfort 45 Wireless Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones, Over-Ear Headphones with Microphone, Personalized Noise Cancellation and Sound, Triple Black

Look no further for one of the best all-around noise cancelling headphones on the market. I’m really enjoying these headphones so far, even after trying AirPods Max and Sony XM4. The QC45 just feel more comfortable to me, which may vary by individual. If you check out the RTINGS comparison you’ll find the sound is actually better than the XM4 and they use scientific methods of comparison, not just throwing them on and making a judgement call. I agree that Bose should offer more customization to suit personal preference but that’s an easy thing to add later in a software update. Noise cancelling beats the XM4 in my opinion and perhaps tied or exceeds AirPods Max — tough to say. If you value comfort and plan to wear these for extending periods definitely consider this model. Don’t get a QC35 like some have said, no USB-C, older technology in general, and QC35 probably won’t get much software support going forward (being the old model).Update 01/11/2022: Still loving these headphones! I’ve taken them on several trips (including air travel) and they’ve performed very well. Battery life is long and they can simultaneously connect to multiple devices so you can pair them with a laptop, phone, tablet, etc without fiddling much with bluetooth settings. Noise cancellation makes the cabin noise in a plane much more tolerable and the controls with physical buttons are fantastic compared to both Sony and Apple competition. I have not tried the Bose NC700, but I am very particular to headphone comfort and design and I don’t believe I would find them as nice to wear for long durations. Mic quality seems to be great, I use them in meetings frequently and have listened to myself through the mic to test. It won’t compete with a standalone microphone, but nonetheless good for a wireless option.Update 07/14/2022: Since purchase Bose has added equalizer settings via a software update (to allow you to tweak the sound), eliminating one of my original complaints entirely. The Sony XM5 have also released. I can’t speak to how good the XM5 is, but know this — the XM5 is more expensive and no longer folds down to a compact form like the XM4 before it. Losing the ability to fold up automatically eliminates the XM5 from consideration for me personally. Traveling with the bulky case of the XM5 does not seem appealing.Update 11/16/2022: The headphones are still going strong! Over the past year I’ve been using these headphones almost every day. If you’re going to use these headphones for meetings be aware that the microphone quality over Bluetooth connection is not that great. The Sony XM5 will produce a better sounding mic, however, even that is not great due to the limitations of Bluetooth technology. I’ve also experienced some audio cutouts when connected to multiple devices at once — if you experience this I suggest disconnecting from all devices and connecting to only a single device at a time. Hopefully the next software update will completely fix this issue. In terms of future technology, I’m looking forward to Bluetooth LE Audio which should prove to be a big leap forward for Bluetooth devices in terms of streaming high fidelity mic and audio. Unfortunately, LE Audio will likely require new hardware so it may be quite some time before we can reap the benefits.

One Month of Use, No Complaints Whatsoever (Will Update in A Year). I did a lot of research looking into bluetooth headphones; as someone with hearing damage and is very picky about how their headphones rest on their ears, I knew I couldn’t settle. I bought various other pairs before trying Bose Quiet Comfort, such as KVIDIO (Not tight to head/sound leaking, bassy sound), Sennheiser 350BT (Pinched my ears, quieter than other sets, could hear myself in calls and couldn’t turn off in app), and Soundcore Q35 (Entirely different sound depending on the device and if plugged in, couldn’t listen to music and be in voice call at same time without plugging in), all of which had their dilemmas. I really wanted a nice pair of bluetooth headphones for cheap, but in my search I recognized that wasn’t possible, so I saved up what I had and thankfully snagged this on discount (bought for $180).The sound is absolutely immersive; my worries about these headphones was that the bass was going to be too heavy, as SONY bluetooth headphones and other sets in this price range are usually very bass heavy. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case with Quiet Comfort; it’s strong, but it doesn’t overpower. The mids and treble sound great too, and I can’t say I’ve had any issues with listening to music, calls with friends, etc, other than those friends having shoddy microphones (No problem though).The fit on this set is also solid; I have noticed in warmer weather that my ears get sweaty, but that’s to be expected with any headset that’s over-ear. My only note is that I noticed the inside of the headphones have molded to my ear. When I first got them, the meshy material with the L and R was flat, but now it’s slightly caved in. I’m not sure if it’s impacted anything, because I haven’t heard a difference in sound, and they don’t feel different. I will keep an eye on it for when I update this review.The controls are simple, a switch on button and three buttons to turn up, down, pause, and skip music (and if on mobile, to use your voice assistant) on the right cuff. On the left, the only button is the noise cancelling (two settings; aware and noise-cancel). I enjoy that this headset has two ports, one for charging, and another to plug them into the device to use instead of bluetooth. However, I will note to anyone that uses these headphones plugged in; when the set is in wired mode, it disables bluetooth, and when still on it sounds incredibly quiet. And, when turned off and plugged in, the EQ and Stereo Sound disable, so using the headphones without them being on is really rough. These doesn’t steer me away from using them though, as I mainly use them on and via bluetooth. I mean, to be honest, who uses bluetooth headphones with a wire anyway unless they’re dead?I’m also actually pretty impressed by the battery on these. They last me all day and night, and I plug them in when I sleep. They charge really fast, and I’ve only had two occasions of low battery, mainly due to me forgetting to charge em.Overall, my only worry onward is the deterioration, if there is any, and possible connection issues. Haven’t had those yet, and hopefully I won’t in a year.

My top 3 reasons for picking QC45s. I realize the QC45s have some slight shortcomings in certain areas but their strengths are why I chose them. I have watched so many reviews on the top N/C headphones it irritates my wife, but here is what you can learn from my OCD (hopefully). First the competition and why I didn’t select these.Airpod Max – Cost, weight and the stupid, stupid, stupid case.Sony XM4/XM5 – Bulky and didn’t want gesture controls (just my preference).Bose NC700 – Didn’t like the style and band adjustment, didn’t fold up small enough and gesture control.There are other headphones in the consumer space but these are the big players and my top 3 reasons for picking QC45s were,1. Space, these fold up into a small case, big, big plus. My main use will be for travel and I wanted the smallest footprint for my carryon.2. Noise cancelling, I tried and compared these to Sony and the NC700 at an electronic shop in an airport and I thought these were the best. This was before the XM5s, from reviews they might have a slight advantage but not significant.3. Comfort, all the reviews said the weight, clamping force, cabin pressure, cavity size and breathability were the best of any of the N/C top picks. Smart move by Bose to have another iteration of the QC35s, the comfort is unrivaled.I will use these mostly for travel, I had QC15s I bought for a wedding anniversary for my wife and I when we were flying for a cruise. They served us well, even bought a Bluetooth adapter for them, still working great and gave them to a family couple. That was 10 years ago, so another anniversary seemed like a reasonable purchase. The other players have features that surpass the QC45s, better sound, more bass, more adjustments but none of these were that important to me. For me comfort was very high on the list and I just like physical buttons and the sound is very good so no complaints there.UpdateComfort – After almost 1 month I can confirm the comfort of these headphones. My wife’s sleep schedule is different than mine so I have been using these connected to our Apple TV while she is sleeping. 2 or more hours with no fatigue, pain or any discomfort at all. As I stated in my original review, comfort was probably my top priority and I am so happy with them.Noise Cancelling – I give the noise cancelling 5 out of 5, absolutely amazing and no hissing or cabin pressure. Adjustable NC just isn’t that important to me, I just want it on or off. In this case it would be ambient, it would be nice to have the option to just turn NC off. Hoping a firmware will be coming to give that option but not a big deal.Sound – EQ’d the sound in the app and I am very happy with how they sound. I’m not a bass junkie or a audiophile but I like upper scale speakers (2 Sonos 5s in my living room for example) and these headphones do not disappoint.Battery – I haven’t measured the actual time but the claimed 24 hours seems pretty close and that is more than adequate.2nd UpdateMy adult daughter flew home for Christmas and she had replaced her Bose QC 25s that had stopped working with the Sony XM4s. So I got to spend some time with the XM4s, played with the app, listened to music, tried the noise cancelling and wore them for a while to test the comfort. I was very impressed, not surprising given the reputation of the XM4s but my personal opinion is the sound was very comparable to my Bose QC45s. I didn’t A/B switch the headphones but I have been listening to the QC45s for a couple of months now so that gave a good reference point. Noise cancelling of the XM4s was excellent, I still think the Bose have the edge but only a very slight advantage, it was cool to have the ability to turn off NC and get better battery life and still wish the Bose had this feature (still holding out hope a firmware will come to give this) but it isn’t a big disappointment for me. The comfort was again excellent, the ear cushions were super supple and gave a great seal. The Sony app had a lot more options than the Bose, if your an app nerd you could geek out on it, if your not it could seem complicated, for me I wouldn’t spend time in it so it’s not a significant advantage but that’s me. As I said in my original review adjustable NC isn’t something I would use so that feature isn’t for me but the Sony’s have it if you would like it.Summary of the XM4s from my perspective is they are comparable to the Bose in many ways, comfort, sound, noise cancelling, case size and better in some aspects like the app and the ability to turn NC off. It comes down to personal preferences and I like physical buttons but wow if you like the features of the Sony they are a top of the line headphones and you would love them. I still would choose the Bose but it was fun playing with the Sony XM4s.3rd UpdateThere were some references to wind noise with the QC45s in comments and reviews because the 45s don’t have the ability to turn off NC (if I remember correctly). I was letting the dog out the other day and had my QC45s on and there was a mild wind. Yes you do get wind noise, so if you are going to use headphones outside consider this. I don’t see this being an issue for me, guess only when I let the dog out, yeah first world problem. I keep mentioning the firmware update that could fix this (and added battery when not needed) with some hopes that a Bose rep will take notice (might have a better chance of winning the lottery) but for now this is a narrow circumstantial issue. For me it’s the comfort that trumps the advantages that the competition has over the QC45s.

Tras tener de compañeros durante 5 años a los QC35 II, la batería ya se resentía mucho y empezaban a hacer cosas raras con la conectividad de algunos dispositivos. Aprovechando que los necesitaba y bajaron de precio, compré los QC45 y aunque pasadas unas semanas escribiré en más detalle, tras las primeras horas sí creo que tengo ya una imagen clara de lo que ofrecen en comparación a sus predecesores.En primer lugar, claramente es un modelo hipercontinuista. No esperes nada nuevo, es el mismo modelo que nos enamoró durante años, pero con unos mínimos cambios que pretenden hacerlo nuevo. La pregunta ahora es ¿Esos cambios lo han hecho mejor producto? para mi la respuesta es clara, no.Lo primero que me llamó la atención es que la calidad de los auriculares no parece la misma, parece inferior. A mi los botones me dan la sensación de ser menos resistentes que antes, como algo de gama media. También he de decir que aunque siguen siendo muy cómodos, los QC35 me lo parecían más. Aunque esto puede deberse a que las almohadillas ya estaban hechas a mi.En cuanto al sonido, nada que mejorar, lo que ya era perfecto no puede ser mejorable, sigue teniendo el mismo sonido plano y limpio de siempre. Si te venden unos auriculares como tiene unos bajos muy fuertes, te están vendiendo distorsión, algo que me encanta de Bose es que no venden distorsión. Para mi este es el aspecto más continuista.Sobre la cancelación, no puedo juzgarla mucho porque mis Bose QC35 yo creo que tenían ya los micrófonos algo tocados y no era ya muy efectiva, pero al ponerme estos tampoco me he quedado impresionado, seguramente esté al mismo nivel que antes, nada diferente.Para mi, la gran GRAN pega. La conexión falla constantemente con el Google Chromecast con Android TV. Siempre tuve los QC35 conectados al Chromecast para poder escuchar la TV con ellos, mi sorpresa ha sido mayúscula al ver que con los QC45 el sonido se va constantemente, incluso estando al lado y sin otro dispositivo conectado. Sinceramente esto ha sido un jarro de agua fría, porque aunque con el móvil y el portátil van bien, y de hecho siento que puedo moverme a bastante más distancia que antes sin perder la señal, lo del Chromecast los deja inservibles para aproximadamente el 25% de uso que hago de los cascos.En resumen, un modelo muy continuista que no mejora prácticamente nada, que a mi parecer estéticamente da la sensación de ser un producto de menor calidad, con un sonido espectacular como siempre y una cancelación de ruido muy efectiva, con una gran pega, no parece estar listo para trabajar con algunos dispositivos. Esperemos que próximas actualizaciones puedan solventar esto, aunque por lo que he visto, la última fue hace más de medio año, lo cual me ha dejado frío. Si los QC35 no estuvieran descatalogados, para mí serían una mejor opción, pero dado que ya no es posible comprarlos, a falta de que arreglen el tema de la compatibilidad, es un sucesor aceptable, pero no digno.Actualizado tras un mes de uso:Definitivamente los QC35 II eran mejores cascos. Al final no he conseguido solventar el problema con el Chromecast, por lo que estoy usando los viejos para la Televisión y los 45 para el PC y móvil. En ambos dispositivos estoy teniendo problemas para iniciar la conectividad con demasiada frecuencia, forzándome a reiniciar en varias ocasiones hasta que se conectan correctamente. En líneas generales, estoy muy descontento con como se comporta el bluetooth del nuevo modelo.Algo que también he notado, es que la batería dura menos que en los QC35 II en sus inicios, esto creo que puede deberse a que los 45 no dan la opción de desactivar del todo la cancelación de ruido, solo de mitigarla, y por lo tanto el gasto de batería es mayor. Pero en cualquier caso, la autonomía sigue siendo suficiente para olvidarte de cargarlos en dos días incluso con un uso intensivo.Respecto a la comodidad, tras varios días usándolos se me han adaptado bien y están al mismo nivel. Mis sospechas de que era más una cuestión de que las almohadillas se hicieran a mi, fueros correctas.Del sonido nada que añadir respecto a lo inicial, sigue pareciéndome un sonido impecablemente limpio y uno de los mejores activos de Bose.En resumen, mantengo totalmente mi postura de los primeros días, son unos cascos que no mejoran para nada sus predecesores y que tienen unos problemas de conectividad que no son tolerables en un dispositivo con un coste de 250 euros.Editado a Agosto de 2023:Quería ampliar un par de cosas que he notado tras más de 10 meses de uso.Primero de todo, debido a la imposibilidad de anular de todo la cancelación de ruido, es imposible utilizar los auriculares por la calle en caso de viento. Al impactar el viento contra los micrófonos se genera un sonido extremadamente fuerte y de forma continuada. Si tienes pensado usarlos para llevar por la calle, a no ser que en futuras actualizaciones de software permitan deshabilitar totalmente la cancelación, no los recomendaría.Por otro lado, aunque es verdad que no ha sido en muchas ocasiones, especialmente cuando los tengo conectados al ordenador, hay ocasiones en las que los cascos se reinician solos sin razón aparente. Se corta el sonido de golpe y lo siguiente que escucho es el audio de inicio. Me habrá pasado unas 5 veces en estos meses.Tras ya camino de un año, me mantengo en que los 35 eran mejores. Sí, el audio y la cancelación es impecable como antes, pero tiene demasiadas cosas que parecen estar poco pulidas y generan una experiencia de usuario bastante negativa.

AWESOME noise cancellation and comfort. These are PERFECT for loud airplanes, offices or when you just need to ignore those pesky kids. They are ultra comfortable and the sound quality is top notch.My only real complaint is that the bass could be deeper/richer. I’m not an audiophile though, so these work JUST fine for me.I use them to listen to music, audio books and to watch the occasional movie when the background is just a bit too loud for my ear buds or when I just need some extra quite.My wife may also use hers to drown out the sounds of my snoring at night…

I got these because they supposedly had decent noise canceling, and they were light weight.The noise cancelling is pretty good, and you can’t really hear much at all if you have music on, but you can still hear everything (just muffled) with no sound playing. Which is ideal for me, and something I really like about this product.They are also not that heavy, and don’t give me awful headaches like a lot of headphones do.The sound quality is also GREAT.The only downsides are that the mic is a little quiet, and you won’t be able to be heard over the phone on a windy day. And they aren’t super tight on my head, so they do fall off easy if you’re doing even light jogging.They also connect to your devices pretty quickly, especially if you use the same device over and over. The only problem is when someone decides to borrow them, and then it has to test that connection first the next time you pick them up. Even WORSE if they’re in the room because they will constantly connect to that device haha.That being said, I use these at my desk, and to walk to class all the time. The battery lasts ages (although it does take a little while to charge), and they’re super comfortable. The case also keeps them nicely packed, and they are much sturdier than they look. I usually just put them around my neck to leave the house, and honestly I have had no problems with that in terms of wear.I’ve had them for a little over a year now, and I use them just about every day, and they are showing ZERO signs of wear or tear. I would HIGHLY recommend these.

The quality of sound, the comfort of the head band and the soft cushion of the ear piece: heaven. I’m not a techie but I know what works for me and this definitely works! These came recommended by a techie therefore I know these are great but from a user standpoint these will be perfect for everyday use, traveling and anytime you want to listen to music and tune out the rest. The battery life is great and the case is perfect. The product warrants thus price I got on Black Friday. Connects to Blue tooth easily and is easy to set up and use. Highly recommend.

Yo los compre el 28 de marzo del 2022 y hasta la fecha no he tenido ninguna queja con los audífonos, el audio super bien la calidad de los materiales muy bueno, el único tema son las almohadillas ya que se están descarapelando aunque esto lo atribuyo a que en estos dos años les he dado un uso casi diario y alrededor de 12 horas por día ya que los uso en la oficina, su cancelación de ruido es una maravilla y me ha ayudado bastante debido a que me distraigo mucho.

Bom, além de ótimo áudio, esse fone com cancelamento de ruído ativo, me permite usar apenas essa função, em voos, por exemplo, ou outros locais barulhentos. Consigo usar essa função quando preciso me concentrar (sou autista e tenho TDAH) e percebo que o trabalho flui melhor ao anular os estímulos do ambiente. Outro ponto essencial: a bateria dura muito. Mais de 30h! Não conheço outro fone com essa mesma durabilidade. Ah, e claro, é confortável demais, inclusive usando óculos, pois não aperta (já precisei usar em eventos que duraram o dia todo e foi perfeito). Super indico para quem procura qualidade e durabilidade. O investimento valeu a pena!
