Where has this stuff been all my life. I’m a bit of a dry shampoo fiend, and I’m SUPER picky about what I use because I have dark hair and hair that gets oily QUICK. I need my dry shampoo to last at least two days before the grease starts to show back up, and it cannot leave a white cast. My go-to for a while was Batiste’s dark brunette one, but I had to use a lot more than I wanted to get it to really take care of the oil, and didn’t love that it left a light brown stain every night on my white pillowcases.This stuff is perfect – it doesn’t leave a white cast once you rub it in, and you need VERY little for it to work. It also works over several days – not that I’m proud of it, but at once point due to the chaos in my life I didn’t wash my hair for over 10 days, but with this I only had to apply twice over that 10 day period, which given my hair gets super greasy, is a miracle.It’s also PERFECT for travel. With my new job I’ve been traveling internationally a lot for work, and it was getting annoying and expensive to keep buying the travel sized dry shampoo sprays. This worked perfect and I often stowed it in my carryon or purse to apply after I landed overnight. I’m about to take it on my trip to Europe for 2 weeks and it will be perfect!Only major callout – once you’ve put this stuff in, and especially if you’ve used too much (no seriously, use VERY LITTLE) any slickness or sleekness you might want out of your hair is hard to come by. I cannot roundbrush my hair at all with this stuff in it, it feels a bit like I am trying to comb through teased hair when I do that. This kind of texture isn’t visible (other than the great volume it gives you), but it doesn’t feel great on your hair when you touch it and can be hard to comb through. This isn’t a major issue for me since I do relatively little hair styling, but for some this might be a dealbreaker. So if you want to try it, heed the warning – you don’t need much of this (which is good because it lasts so long!) – also maybe put it on AFTER you’ve styled your hair.
If this ever gets discontinued, I will cry. This is the best dry shampoo I’ve ever used, BUT it is not for everyone.This is for those with excessively oily scalps. If you wash your hair in the morning and it’s already looking oily by 5 pm, this is the dry shampoo shampoo for you. If your existing dry shampoo only gives you one extra day of clean hair, this is for you.The reason why a lot of people don’t like this is because it is POTENT. And by potent, I mean super drying (if you don’t use it correctly).This stuff works SO well, I only have to apply it ONCE on second day hair. With that ONE application, I can go to day 4 or even 5 without washing. I used to have to wash my hair every other day, even with some of the best dry shampoos on the market.Here’s the best way to use it:- I part my hair from my forehead to the nape of my neck and only do 2 VERY LIGHT taps. One at the top of my head (stay away from your hairline) and one at the back. Then I move 2 inches over, do the same part, and repeat until I’ve gone from ear to ear.- The key is not using too much. This stuff goes a long way. If you use too much, it will be too drying and you’ll hate the texture of your hair.- Let it sit in your hair for 5-10 minutes to soak up the oils. Then flip your head over, rub it into your scalp with your hands, and brush it out. Sometimes I even take a blow dryer to help spread the powder and blow away the excess.- It’s best if you use it before your hair gets oily (but it still works if your hair is past that point!). For me, my hair gets super oily overnight so I apply before bed.It is a small amount for a higher price, but how little you need and the fact that you don’t need to reapply, it’ll last just as long as a normal dry shampoo.
I rarely write product reviews but this product is legit amazing. I like to wash my hair ever 4 days or so because it is bleached and very dry. Usually on day 3 I start to get a teeny oil on my scalp, and dry shampoo can hold me over for another day or two. HOWEVER, with this product, holy moly, once you use it your scalp NEVER gets oily. It does have a minor dry and minor chalky feeling, and does definitely mattify your roots, erasing zero look and feeling of oil.I also love how east the dispenser is in comparison to sprays. Powder and scent doesn’t dispense everywhere in your bathroom, and you have a lot more control over how much product you use and where you want to put it. It’s also a lot smaller and therefor easier to use when travelling. Note – you do have to be careful not to dispense too much product otherwise it can feel like a volumizing product and can be hard to get your fingers or brush through. Highly recommend.Packaging look is meh and I don’t really notice a smell to be honest.
This is hard core. This stuff is the real deal. If you have super oily hair, this could work for you. I have never had a dry shampoo that I didn’t have to reapply each day. If I apply this once, I typically don’t even have to apply it the next day. It soaks up that much. It also gives a lot of volume and texture and makes the hair have some grip. This could be good or bad. I will also say, I don’t feel like my hair necessarily looks the cleanest with this, but even when my hair is “squeaky clean” it usually looks a little oily and flat so that’s what I have to compare it to. I’d choose this any day. I can’t say that this is going to be good for your hair or your scalp as it seems pretty drying but again, I’d take that over oily hair and scalp any day. Overall, the ability this product has to absolutely obliterate oil and give me texture/volume makes it a big win in my book, even with some of its drawbacks.
Looks great, but hair feels chalky after using. I used this the first time and followed directions running my fingers through my hair. I immediately hated the feel, very chalky feeling. I decided I’d return it. As the day wore on, I did notice that my hair looked really good, best of any dry shampoo looks wise. So I’m keeping it.I’ve used it a couple times. My scalp has some break outs, not sure if that’s due to this or my stupid changing hormones. Can’t say for sure.I like that it’s not aerosol like my others and the powder puff makes application super easy, just go light and build up what you need. I really dabbed it the first time and it looked too powdery.This doesn’t have a strong scent at all, which I don’t like about the spray ones, they seem to have such strong scents.I would get this again
