Tough Little Skwerls. I bought these at the same time as I bought the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirel toy as I have 3 dogs and I figured at least one of the squirrels would get lost pretty quick leaving the dogs to squabble over the other two reamining squirrels. Ironically, all three of these squirrels are still present and accounted for though they are showing a bit of wear at this point. They are also covered with dog spit but as they are dog toys that is to be expected.I have 2 medium sized dogs and one huge dog. Two of the dogs play with these toys EVERY DAY and after almost 3 months they squirrels are just now starting to show noticeable wear. My dogs love to dissect their toys and remove the squeaker. If I am on the ball I find the squeaker and tie it up in a couple of pairs of old socks and return it to the dogs. This solves two problems: 1. The dogs are unable to injest the squeker and 2. I no longer feel obligated to try to find the mates to those socks. The dogs also love the squeaky sock toys and wiill still play with the squeakerless squirrel toy carcasses so this is truly a win-win situation. At this point, 2 of the 6 total squirrels I ordered are sans squeaker. Three out of the six are showing any real wear. One out of the six total looks like new, probably because it has been under the dresser for the past two months. So, these squirrels are smart as well, or at least one out of six is of above average intelligence. Well played, Kyjen, well played. These toys and the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirrel toy were all a big hit with my dogs, even with the dog that could care less about them because when I throw a squirrel for the other dogs to fetch, the dog who doesn’t play with the toys chases the dogs that are running after the toy and screws with the slower dog by latching onto one of his hind legs and making him fall down. So, these toys entertain the dogs that actually play with them, the dog that couldn’t care less about them, and me. That’s getting the most possible bang for your buck right there! This is the first time I bought any of Kyjen’s products and I would absolutely buy Kyjen products again as well as reccomend them to my dog-owning friends. These are awesome toys. Yes, the squirrels are on the small side but I was expecting that as I actually took the time to read the product description before I ordered them. My dogs do not care that the squirrels are kind of small and I don’t believe that the size of the toys has any impact on their durability or function. These are awesome dog toys. If you don’t get them for your dogs you are not a fun person and it’s highly likely that your dog pees on you as you sleep. I sure would. I mean I would if I were your dogs.Buy the damn toys already!*HERE’S MY REVIEW OF THE KYJEN HIDE-A-SQUIRREL TOY*This review is from: Kyjen PP01056 Hide-A-Squirrel Pet Toy, LargeI have 2 medium sized dogs and one giant dog and two of them love these toys. The other one likes to play with other dogs much more than she does dog toys so I’m not really surprised that she isn’t that into them. The wierd dog and the giant dog LOVE these toys and play with them daily. They have taken both the squirrels and the “tree trunk” outside, played tug-of-war with them and even buried them and the toys are still looking pretty good after a couple of months of rough, frequent play. Two of the squirrels are now without their squeakers as the giant dog loves to dissect them and remove the squeakers. This isn’t a problem, I actually expected he would have removed all of the squeakers by now and I bought three additional squirrels because I really expected these toys to wear out much more quickly. I’m pleasantly surprised at how well they are hanging in there. Of the six squirrels I ordered five are present and accounted for and the dogs play with all of them, even the ones giant dog has disemboweled.Yes, the squirrels are on the small side. I was not surprised by this as I took the time to read the complete product description. I don’t know how well other larger dogs would like these toys, my giant dog is touched in the head but very smart and he loves them despite the size.I have never ordered Kyjen products before ordering this Hide-A-Squirrel toy and the replacement toys and I am thrilled that the toys are of such good qulaity and that my dogs are getting lots of “play” out of them. Even the one dog that doesn’t like toys that much is entertained by them as she likes to chase the dogs that are playing with the toys and try to chew their legs off as they run. All my dogs are entertained and entertained dogs are dogs that are not running all over the neighborhood humping everything in sight or chewing holes in my socks.I would absolutely order Kyjen products again and I would order from this seller again. My items arrived one day before they were due and were packed appropriately. I would also reccommend both Kyjen and this seller to other dog owners and have already told my sister about these toys and how awesome they are.If I could give this product and this seller more than five stars I so would!

My dog loves chasing squirrels. She is fascinated by tree animals. I gave this to her expecting a game involving the squeaky squirrels I’d unwrapped and stuffed inside the log. The first thing she did was tear out the bottom of the log, even though I showed her the other openings. I think she thought if she destroyed the whole tree they’d have nowhere to hide. That took her less than 10 seconds. I was still gathering the packaging when I heard the rip. It’s now hanging like a flap because I wrestled her for it and I distracted her by playing fetch with the squirrels. Now I stuff the remnant of log with all her toys and treats and tuck in the flap, and each time she plays with it, she pulls a little more stuffing out of it. I don’t think it will last very long. But she does love the squeaking squirrels. They sound just like the real tree animals outside that seem to enjoy teasing her. She chews one of these stuffed squirrels while laying on top of the rest. The squirrels are more sturdy than the log. Anyway, I’d buy this again, but I do wish the stitching on the bottom of the log was sturdyer. It’s hard with a bull-terrier, but since everyone knows dogs love to chew, there’s a high expectation for toys marked with a double-digit pricetag to stand up to the chewing, at least for a few minutes. 5 stars for creativity in the design, and for hours of fun for my animal companion, but one star deducted for the log being deconstructed before I could clean up the packaging.
my dog LOVES this. My dog loves this!. she usually rips stuffed animals apart but she has not done that yet. I’ve had it several months now and it has held up. Now her sister did rip one apart, that was her only goal was to shred it, lol. she literally sat down with it, held it in her paws and pulled and pulled until it was apart. (it was work, but she was able to destroy it enough to get the stuffing out, which is ALWAYS her goal. )We still have 2 though and she (dog #1) plays with them often. I would buy again!
Wish I could rate higher. Yup. He’s a fan. 5/5We got the Large version. Came with 6 mini plush toys with it. All have little squeakers in them. But I’d say they’re softer sounding/less obnoxious. He’s had it for a few days and loves digging his face in all the openings and pulling different things out. Good quality material could actually see myself getting the tree version of this one down the road cause he’s such a fan
Fantastic – Our dogs’ favourite toys. We read about this squirrel house as it seemed to be a favourite of dog owners. We bought it for our two golden retrievers at Christmas and they loved it! They enjoyed opening the wrapping paper – of course – and then amused themselves no end with the house and all the squirrels. One brother, Marley, loves playing with all the squirrels and the other, Sunshine, loves carrying the whole shebang around. So it’s pretty perfect really. That was almost two years ago now and they’re still playing with it, a real endorsement!
Dog loves. A friend bought me this for my newly adopted large dog. She loved her bees so much. Takes them out of their hive and carries them around the house making them squeak. So adorable. She gets a wing and her doggie sister gets the other to play mini tug of war. I recently had to buy a new set because they were played with so much!
The reviews are legit… this is awesome. My 7mo puppy is 40lbs of pure energy. I was looking for something that would hold her attention & keep her from being bored without just gnawing on a bone. This is the perfect stimulation for her! I also like that I don’t have to worry about sharp edges anywhere on this toy.I purchased the XL last night & put it together out of her sight. This entailed simply opening the outer package, then pulling a netted bag out of the center of there log; this bag contained six squirrels that I cut out of the bag. There are four offsetting holes in the body of the log, with five if you count the larger hole at the top. I put all of the squirrels back in the log & introduced her to it so that it was more intriguing than just seeing squirrels piled up next to the trunk. She immediately went for it, grabbing one squirrel after another. She first played with them by the head or tail, so she got extra excited when I showed her that the bodies squeaked. They get strewn everywhere as she roots them out, then she sticks her nose in the log & tosses it around, prancing over to me to show that she found all the squirrels. The individual squirrels are also exciting to my puppy, & it’s funny to see her play with one then realize there’s another in the corner to play with, then the log, then another squirrel she hasn’t played with in 2mins, & then another, & so on, ad infinitum. Sometimes, she takes a squirrel & brings it to me, stuffing it in my hand or on my lap so I can toss it to her. After a while, I put them back in the log, & the cycle starts again. I like to leave one or two stuffed in the middle & not poking out of a hole so that she has to work a bit harder to get them out, & she loves it. That means that I love it, since I can get work done & don’t have to worry about my fur baby being bored & destructive.Speaking of destruction, my only complaint is that the squirrels aren’t exactly durable. Within the first 3mins one of the squirrels lost a tail & its hair on top. Today another one kept its tail, but is also now bald. Given how much my puppy loves this toy, it’s not enough for me to deduct a star.I don’t know how long the trunk & the rest of the squirrels will hold up, but so far, I’m incredibly pleased. My puppy is too, as it was the first thing she went looking for after our morning routine/to start her playtime. I rarely write reviews, but this is one item that surprised me with how well it works; I readily recommend it to anyone with a fur baby!
Not super strong. The squirrels and the tree stump were so cute and fun, for awhile. My dog’s goal is to shred every toy. The stuffing was pulled out pretty quick out if the tree stump. Squirrels ears are gone. But they are still usable. I tend to try to sew things a few times before throwing them away. They are a good size and I think with other dogs they’d last longer, just not with mine. Good price though.
Well Made with Lots of Tiny Accessories. Nothing better than digging into one of the holes to draw out multiple squeaky critters. Loads of fun. Has held up to many tug-a-war moments. Tiny critters are the perfect size for big or little mouths. Would buy again!
Expect Quality for your Pup. Bargain price for The Huge size, so I purchased (yet another) set of these squeaky little chipmunks. The material is clean. The sewing is sound. The added benefit of interactive hide/seek play, delivers quality fun.
Perfect for small dogs. My 10lb dachshund loved this. The little squirrels are sturdy and she loves playing with them. The tree trunk did not last. She pulled the filling out after a couple days.
Good quality, great toy. My 16 pound dog loves these. The squeaker in them is strong and good quality. The entire toy is a good quality. She loves playing catch and throw with these mouse toys. Totally worth the money. I think the three that come in the order will last her lifetime, but otherwise I will definitely buy them again. Praise great price.
Engaging Toy for my Schnauzer. I purchased the squirrel plush log toy for my Schnauzer, and it has been a hit! Initially, he was frustrated when he couldn’t retrieve the squirrels, but over time, he grew to love it. The toy is well-made, and even after six months, it remains intact despite all the chewing and pulling. The squeakers are strong and of good quality, though my dog has managed to remove them. He often takes a squirrel to his bed and nuzzles it while napping—so cute! I wish they sold replacement squirrels. Overall, it’s a great toy and totally worth the money.
Best Toy I’ve Found. My small puppy loves this toy! It’s intellectually stimulating for her to get the squirrels out and then she loves playing with them as they squeak. She’s about 15 lbs and the small size is perfect for her and it’s held up well to a lot of play. It’s even a good distraction when she gets into mischief. Highly recommended!
