Works very well – not a gimmick. I was initially thinking there was no way some gears/teeth would make a difference with these things. However, they actually work very well and cut branches much thicker and more easily than anything I’ve used before. The combination of the gear mechanism and non stick cutting blades work well to make yard work much easier.After use I cleaned the blades off with simple green and a rag, then coated them with WD40 to hopefully keep them nice for years.
Fiskars makes great garden tools. Great set of shears. I have some small Fiskars garden shears that are over 40 years old and still going strong. Made to last.
As expected. They work as expected. Was hoping they would be a little sharper but they work for what I need and it’s just occasional bush trimming.

FISKARS shears and tools have out-performed and outlasted all other brands consistently over many years. In fact, they may one day be passed on to my grown children as the sturdiest, most durable and most precise garden shears ever made.I chose this particular Powergear-2 hedge cutting shears primarily for their lightweight feature. They are comfortable to hold and maneuver in tight sports. They operate smoothly and efficiently and reliably. My other FISKARS cutting tools are heavier and some have very useful, extendable handles that allow me to trim large and tall bushes and hedges. Some allow me to cut very thick branches easily.I have been using these lightweight shears weekly on extensive, full-grown plantings for almost two months now. They are very sharp, easy to manipulate and cut cleanly all of the time. They are designed for thin branches on hedges and shrubs. They are particularly useful for tall bushes and hedges where I have to reach over my head to trim for long periods of time. Their light weight and clean cutting ability is a definite asset in such situations. Yes, I do have electric hedge cutters, but I rarely use them. I prefer the precise shaping ability that these FISKARS shears alone provide.The shears are an excellent value at $31. I am confident that they will provide years of use, based on current and past experience. They are a real bargain when you consider the high cost that professional landscapers charge. I remember that these things used to be more robust when I was a kid. Oh well, they should get the job done, which is all that matters.

Worked GREAT. These work great. They are smooth to operate and do NOT catch or grab onto branches or leaves. Smooth cuts and ready for the next slice each time you squeeze the handles. As someone without much arm strength, these took on a lot of the power needed to work efficiently. Definitely makes a difference to get the 3X power.

Awesome trimmers! Wicked sharp. These are great trimmers for occasionally maintaining shrubs in my yard. The PowerGear action really helps you get through some surprisingly thick branches. I lopped off many willow branches that were up to about 1/2″ thick with zero problems.If I were doing more frequent or more involved trimming I’d probably opt for a longer pair of trimmers to be more efficient, but these are perfect for my own basic homeowner needs
Great Value. I needed something to cut down perennials in the Fall. I can cut a large swath at once which is just what I needed! Very well made!
Product is Very Good – Shipping Package/Padding Terrible. Fiskars is a respected product in our household (scissor, fabric cutters, etc.), and this hedge trimmer seems to be great also (but needs more usage before final verdict).The Amazon packaging however, was terrible ! The box was too large and there was absolutely no padding to protect the shears. As a result, the product’s plastic guard was broken (protects the blades and also provides for hanging the item on a nail or hook). Luckily the cutting capability seems OK but this is the worst shipping prep I’ve ever seen from Amazon, and I receive quite a few packages. Most products, even inexpensive items are very well padded, sometimes to excess – this one had no protection whatsoever and it was in an oversized box – not a good combination!

Love these. I don’t have shrubs , but I do have 9 perennial beds. I use these to cut back and they are amazing! Also use them on my prairie grasses. Cuts right through them.
Talk about this. I have taken it upon myself to do the whole garden of my new home. These things are genius and sharp! I had to cut out a lot of ruts and this product probably saved me hours! Love love it ! Just be careful really sharp
