Does not vibrate, collar stretches too much. Although barking causes the tone to go off, the collar does NOT vibrate. Several of my family, including myself, held the collar around our necks and “barked”. We were able to create the tone, but no vibration happened. I’m keeping it since the tone seems to at least stop my dog from barking more than 2 or 3 times, but it’s disappointing that it doesn’t reinforce the tone with the promised vibration. Fingers crossed that the barking will be reduced to a bare minimum in a couple weeks, but without the vibration I’m not sure how successful it will be.Edit to add: Collar Stretches- so is hard to keep snug enough around neck. Trying to figure out how to keep it snug without constantly removing it to readjust. 2nd edit: still can’t get the collar to stay snug enough to even make the tone go off when he barks. Otherwise it’s only a collar with no other purpose.
What a life saver. We purchased this because my 7 lb Havanese would not stop barking. she would bark at the tv, at my bird, at the leaves outside, the birds outside… at everything just jump from one thing to the other. we put this on her and she stopped almost immediately. we had to fit it right so it could feel her bark, but once it was fitted right it was like magic, I could hear the beep and she would look around, then if she continued it would give her a little vibration. Thank you for a wonderful tool that helps so much. and at an affordable price
Nice for small dogs. It works well on my 12 pound Chihuahua mix. However, I have a 4 pound Chihuahua that seems to have gotten the hang of it and it either quit working or he just barks through it. I’ve also tried the handheld bark stoppers, and they have no effect on him either. I hate that dog and I’d get rid of him, but my daughter loves him.
Charge doesn’t last as long as they say. They said a full charge should last for 2 weeks or so and it barely lasted 1 week. During my dogs first 10 days of training I realized she was regressing and I couldn’t figure out why. It was dead but I didn’t expect it to be already!Also, the beep doesn’t go off if the collar isn’t just right on the dog so if you think you can’t hear the beep you might need to readjust or it’s pointless.
Much Better than Expected. I have a 2 year old 23lb Cavapoo that goes absolutely crazy when seeing animals on TV, especially other dogs – but no more. I don’t mind her whimpering but I could not break her of her excessive barking. I tried this collar with doubts for a couple reasons. I was afraid it would go off when she ate or drank and also was concerned it would freak her out and the effect would be too traumatic. With a sensitivity setting of 7 the collar will only be set off when her whimpering turns into barking and nothing else sets it off. The first warning beep is all it takes to completely correct her barking. She figured out pretty quickly that it’s okay to whimper but barking is not allowed. She doesn’t mind having the collar on and it doesn’t seem to traumatize her at all. She also figured when she wears the collar that barking is completely out of question and will avoid setting it off at all. Eventually I’m hoping that she will learn that barking is not allowed even without the collar; in the meantime it’s a great training tool – I’m very please, the results are better than expected.
