These are GREAT. These are great. Really. I read some iffy and really bad reviews. But the $150.00 clippers I looked at on Chewy also had some bad reviews. The more expensive ones weren’t available at Chewy so I found these and was very interested. It sounded like they could take on the job so I took a chance.I am not a professional groomer. As a matter of fact I don’t have a clue. But we have Auggies. This is a Mini Australian Shepherd Corgi mix. The cutest. However, they are densely hairy, long silky overcoats with something very close to sheep’s wool underneath. I think this qualifies as double-coated.A couple months ago we had to cut around the rump area the first time we had to do some clipping. At the time we had cheap clippers and scissors. To do this job with those tools literally took 45 minutes with me holding a long, squatty, 38 pound dog’s butt up in the air while my husband chopped and shaved. Those clippers were not great. We needed something better. And because the pups are so hairy and our temps live in the nineties most of the summer we wanted to help them out a little and shave their tummies at least. My husband wanted to shave the entire dogs. Fortunately I talked him out of it.These clippers arrived, I charged them and when the dogs were outside and I decided to just go ahead and give it a whirl. I was shocked. Once I got the guard clipped tightly in place (that was something I read in a review, push and lock it in) I did a couple of sweeps and got right down where I wanted to go. Like one sweep, two at max and it took off both types of fur. I don’t want to say like a warm knife through butter, but it really kind of was just as slick. Our little girl has a nearly naked belly and a nicely clipped rear in maybe 5 minutes. If that. My husband took over and within 15 minutes he had clipped our little boy way down, kind of giving him an edgy look with sculpted under carriage belly and cleaned up sides. The actual clipping is a dream, most of the time was making sure he looked even. The doggos didn’t seem freaked out and the little girl actually liked it. The charge I had given it lasted the entire time and there was plenty of time left.An amazing product for the price. Seriously. I’ll bet they did as good as the over $100 ones.I only rated it four stars because we haven’t had them for very long and that is an unknown for me. I don’t want to label these as the perfect 5 star product after only using them once. But that one time was worth the $30 and change. I’ve spent more than that going out for a not so great meal. If they last through four shaves I’d turn around and buy them again. But they feel really heavy duty and nice and did such a good job I’m going to get way more than four shaves out of them.

Great Pyrenees Mix. I bought these to attempt my first at home groom with my 125 mix breed dog. These clippers worked amazing through his thick coat. I did need to charge them about 3/4 of the way through but I was also going very slow being my first time. I am so excited for his hair to grow out to do another groom! They cut effortlessly and are Cordless which is an added plus.

Better than name brand dog clippers. I was going to by a name brand dog clippers but decided to give these a try. The dog clippers worked extremely well on my dog who has a very thick coat. The clippers were so quiet my dog just laid there and let me cut his hair. These clippers are worth way more than they should be selling them for but I’m glad I was able to get them at very good price.

For The Price Well Worth It. Read reviews and said why not. I have a Yorkie who suffers from terrible anxiety and didn’t want her to have to take medication to be groomed. First it’s nice and quiet which is very helpful for her. It comes with the comb and scissors which cut neat and quick and several attachment combs I guess they are. Now her hair had grown our tremendously so it’s taking a few sessions because we want her to tolerate the grooming so right now 4 stars and edit once we’re into the maintenance faze. Also as some others have said, your finger sometimes shuts it which isn’t that big a deal. Overall get this trimmer if you have a dog who is afraid of the groomer.

Good, but. Very good for the price. Cut my dog easily between all the trying to escape. My only issue is the guides don’t clip on real secure. The one I was using kept falling off. Most have a clip at the back of the guide but these just slide on.

Quirky control button and battery/ SEE MY REVIEW UPDATE. I got these clippers about 2 years ago. Right off the bat I noticed that the on off switch was quirky sometimes needing several tries to turn off or on. Also the readout would only come on momentarily when plugging in the charger. I decided to keep, however because those issues not withstanding, it was a good tool. The first year passed and I would use 3 or 4 times to shave my shaggy dog till she overgrew again. I would routinely charge prior to the one hour job. This year I noticed the charge would only last a half hour, requiring me to recharge to finish her. The last time I used it, it lasted about 10 minutes. It took me 7 days to get her finished. I’ve been watching the charge over the last few months and it doesn’t stay charged, dying at about the 5 minute mark. Once I charged; switched on and this time the charge readout appeared and stay on while running. You could watch the % drop every few seconds and it got to zero just in a few minutes. I’m gonna try to contact the seller and see if they’re maybe good guys and can provide a new better replacement battery. If they do I will revise this review. If not I do not recommend Holdog. It’s a rechargeable battery and was not abused nor used too much. I’m also wondering if this was a return or refurb that they slipped in. **** I heard back within a few hours. They apologized and asked if they could replace. I agreed. They did say it might take a little bit, but I an impressed with their customer service. I will update when I receive the replacement. This make me very happy as this, minus the few problems is the best clippers I’ve ever owned and it’s quiet and doesn’t scare my dog. Kudo to Holdog Sevice Team. Top stars for immediate response. UPDATE. True to their word. I received a brand new one and it works perfectly. This is the kind of company I highly recommend. They were responsive and fulfill their promise. They get a 5 star PLUS review. These are the BEST clippers I’ve ever owned. I give their customer service 5 stars + as well. I am totally amazed at how quick and painlessly they responded. Excellent versatile clippers. I purchased this clipper set late October 2023. My cockapoo was a puppy then. I own Andis clippers I used for my large standard poodle but wanted something smaller/quieter for this new little girl. Her coat has developed more like a poodle so trimming curly is a little different. Some tangles & small matts. I keep her hair short. This trimmer works great! For over a year now I’ve used them about every 6 weeks for full trims & in between for face and feet. Poodle hair grows fast & hers does. I live in Colorado mountains with a large yard. She gets all types of weather & gets wet & dirty. Pine sap sometimes in paws. Loves to run & play. This trimmer has been really great. Easy to use holds charge well. I really appreciate how it doesn’t over heat & being cordless. It’s durable & combs work very well. Very lite. I’ve had no issues.Sadly now the blade is getting dull & I have to replace the whole device. Price is still great even at $7 more It’s been so handy I don’t know if I want to switch to my Andis clippers [used them 16 years] with the long cord. Andis are excellent too & easy to replace blade. I may spring for high cost of cordless.😀I’m contacting seller to purchase just the device as I don’t need whole kit.

Great value. We have 2 15lb terriers and this clipper set is perfect for their monthly at home grooming. Lightweight, good size, sturdy, not too loud, multiple attachments and good battery life.

Clippers good scissor aweful. Bathe your dog first. Keeps clippers sharp! Clippers worked well. Trimmed my papillon chihuahua well. Still at 86% power when done.Scissors included were bent, don’t cut! Glad I had good grooming ones. Noise level is typical but better than my Wahl motor driven ones. I have 2 small dogs so hopefully the Clippers continue to function. Value is good, plastic combs are ok once you lower the blades and push tightly on. Off/on button is small.
