Works great for my blonde eyebrows. I love this eyebrow pencil! I love that it does thin pencil strokes to look more natural, has the twist function to get more product vs having to sharpen it, and isn’t too dark if you don’t push hard. The brush end helps correct any spots that are too dark or uneven with the other side and helps fade the inside part of my brow so it’s not such a hard line (I like a more natural look – personal preference). I outline the shape I want and then fill it in with light strokes. Be sure to pay attention to which cap you put on which end: the pencil end cap is longer than the brush end cap – the brush cap will smush the pencil end off if you accidentally use the wrong cap, which wastes product and makes it run out faster. Mine has lasted 4 months and is still going. I will definitely buy it again!
Rich Auburn is a Perfect Match to my Hair. As a “prestige” brand make-up user, I decided to try the NYX Micro-Brow pencil since IT discontinued the skinny brow pencil in Auburn. The NYX Rich Auburn is a PERFECT match for my auburn hair! Many times an auburn color is too light, but not this one! Because it is a skinny pencil, it is easier to apply with little hair-like strokes and looks more natural. I begin by applying brow gel so my brows stay in place and it is easier to see where I need to apply color. I find that applying my brow gel first helps to alleviate the pencil from smudging and helps me to apply only what is needed. Although it is not necessary, I do go over the pencil with my brow powder. I get 12+ hours of natural, looking brows that look as fresh at 5:00 pm as they did at 5:00 am. This brow pencil exceeds this “prestige” brand make-up user’s expectations. I will buy multiples of this one.
Gray is great; less stark than black. The gray color is not only for those with gray hair, but is simply a softer “black.” I’d call it a light charcoal gray, which is perfect for my cool-toned skin and hair. I’m now 59, and decades ago I worked for Clinique. I did makeovers on others and certainly understood color theory …but with age, my skin and hair have changed. The decades-old makeup colors and procedures that worked for so long, now need adapted. This color is what I need to avoid the warmth that comes with most browns, yet not too stark as with black. My one criticism is that like others have reviewed, this pencil unfortunately breaks easily. Must be extremely gentle to avoid breakage. For the price, it’s still a great deal.
My Long Time Go-To. I’ve tried several brow pencils over the years and this one stays at the top due to its high-pigmentation, and how great it stays in place all day without smudging. I like that it is fine so that it looks more natural when applied. It’s half the price as ones that apply the same! Try it out if you’re on the edge!!
Most used product. I am absolutely obsessed with this pencil. I’ve been using it for years. I rely on it heavily. Goes on smooth blends easily, and looks really natural. Stays on all day with setting spray. Must have in your collection.
A great way to fill and groom your brows. The pencil is nice and thin, it does a great job of filling in the background of the gaps in my mature brows that have become sparse with age. Nice spoolie on one end and the thin fine retractable pencil on the other. The Glue is a great way to “Set” the brows once you have used the pen and spoolie to keep the look intact. Of course if you rub them too much, it will negate your initial grooming (which is expected), but I find that it has great holding power throughout the day for me. It’s also a more subtle and soft look as opposed to dying your brows. I suppose that depends on what shade of pencil you get. I went for a more subtle matching shade to my natural brows.I do dye my brows from time to time, and this also works well to color in the background of the areas that just look a little thin.
grey color perfect with silver hair. delighted how easy to draw on and shape brows, brush smooths out any bumps or dark spots. am 65 years old and have been looking for a grey eyebrow pencil. brought a different expensive brand called “granite” (grey, right?) that made me look like Eddie Munster. others too brownish or reddish. so glad to find this pencil at a great price. don’t have to waste anymore money looking for a winner. this is it. give it a try. would buy again, am buying three more so I don’t run out. would give to a friend.
Best Anastasia Brow Dupe. This is my favorite eyebrow pencil since using the Anastasia Brow Pencil, and it’s 1/3 of the price! It lasts pretty long, a few months for me and I fill in my eyebrows almost every day.Also, what I like about this one is that it’s a very natural looking black, there’s no blue tint to it. At the same time, it’s not just a dark brown, that always frustrated me when I was trying to find the darkest shade possible of an eyebrow pencil- it would look brown compared to my black hair.Overall I love this product and it’s a great cheaper alternative to the anastasia brow pencil.
My Favorite. I have tried many eyebrow pencils and I always come back to this one. I like the fact that it’s retractable , easy to apply and easy to control how much you put on. The Ash brown matches my eyebrows perfectly. It also has a little brush that you could brush out your eyebrows. Make sure you put the top on as you don’t want to dry out the liner. Excellent product especially for the price.
Perfect dupe. I received the Anastasia brow wiz pencil in one of my Ipsy bags and just fell in love with it, but it was such a tiny thing it did not last long. I went online to purchase the Anastasia pencil myself but there was no way I was going to pay that price. So I began my search for the perfect dupe and this little pencil is it. This is just like the Anastasia pencil but better because of the price. This is definitely going to be my go to brow pencil.
Excellent brow pencil. I spent a long time reading reviews and I ended up getting this one and another one by a different drug store brand. The ABH pencils I had been using were way too expensive so I needed some more affordable options.This NYX pencil is excellent quality. The color doesn’t pull too red either, which is a problem I’ve had with other brown toned eyebrow products. The micro pencil is perfect for drawing thin, believable hair strokes, and it’s also strong enough to draw outlines underneath and around the tail end of the brows.I dropped this pencil a few times and the product inside didn’t break apart into pieces, so that’s pretty amazing.
Excellent precision and color. After trying several other eyebrow pencils, I’d almost given up on finding one to fill in my thinning brows. This one is absolutely perfect. The tiny tip is great for making precise strokes to fill them in. My eyebrow hairs are black, but at my age of 77, black eyebrow pencils are far too dark for my facial coloring. This charcoal gray fills in perfectly without being too starkly black. Love this pencil. I’m ordering more in case they stop making it!
Great for mature women. I have been fortunate that my hair only has silver, mixed with my blonde, at 67 years of age. However, I found my old stand-by blonde eyebrow pencils harsh against my skin. This grey pencil has been the bomb for me! I love it and it is not, in the least, harsh. Do yourself a favor and buy this pencil if you are finding other colors too harsh. It also goes on well and feathers excellently!
Are there refills. I loved the taupe color for my dark brown/ gray eyebrows. I was surprised that the pencil only lasted two months with use about 3 days/week. That’s a very short “lead,” I’m hoping it was an anomaly and will try again. I ordered another brand’s pencil as a future alternate. It’s too wasteful to have to throw out the empty brown pencils every 2-2.5 months. Are there refills?
Long lasting. This is one of the best reviewed eyebrow pencils and for a good reason. It’s long lasting, very easy to use, affordable and it lasts for a long time since the crayon does’t break easily. I wish the two lids would be different so I don’t confuse them (I’ve seen in other brand one fully black and the other a bit translucent). The wrong lid won’t lock in the wrong position, but you still lose time while putting in back in the right one.On a side note, I recently purchased the mac pro brow which was super well reviewed (in an airport store, while waiting for this order to arrive), it costed more and it started breaking so fast, didn’t last a week. And I was delicate! I’ll stay with my NYX forever.
Precise application. I like that the swivel tip is thin and allows for “drawing” or feathering of product exactly where I want. The spoolie at the opposite end is convenient, works well for me. Each pencil lasts a little over one month for me but I don’t create heavy or dark brows so not much of the product is used. It is important to expose a very little bit of the tip each time as the tip can break off when applying because it is so thin; can’t use the tiny broken piece as it is so small. That was the only “negative” comment I have. Product doesn’t rub off much for me but I usually use an eyebrow seal anyway. The size, the thinness and being so lightweight is what I prefer. I usually order 3-5 at a time.
Works great for realistic brow. Love this dual end eyebrow pencil. Give a natural look for filling in the eyebrow and easy to use. It doesn’t last long so you would have to buy a couple. I want to say I got a month out of mine? I don’t have really thick eyebrows.
Finally, a great grey brow pencil. I have been looking for a decent grey brow pencil to conpliment my sparse microbladed brows. I have mostly white hair and am so done with trying pencils from everyone from Chanel (my preferred skincare) to tv shopping networks. I do not appreciate hearing that taupe will be best because it is not. Washed out on my skintone.This color pops in a charcoal tone. Not harsh like black, or lame like light grey and that taupe. I better get several in case it is ever discontinued.Thanks!
My Constant go-to Eyebrow Pencil. These are my favorite eyebrow pencils ever. As soon as I run out I order like two more! I get these in a lighter shade and a bit darker shade so I can achieve a gradient natural effect. When I don’t have time I just use one shade. I always recommend these pencils to people! They are retractable, perfect width (Small enough for the perfect tail), natural colors, stay on well even if you don’t have eyebrow hairs in areas you need to draw on (I have very limited eyebrow hairs), they don’t break with pressure, and affordable! I’ve tried most expensive, mis tiers, and cheap ones and these win every time. I prefer these to my Too Faced ones any day! I have a black hair so I use Espresso, Brunette most days, and sometimes Taupe when my hair color if more faded or going for very natural at the start of my brow.I’m thinking I need to reset these up on an automatic subscription. Buy these you will not be disappointed!
