Directions Using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 110 g of Pro Plan. Puppies start to nibble solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Keep moistened Pro Plan available at all times. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6 - 8 weeks). After weaning, Pro Plan can be fed moistened or dry. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. You can gradually reduce to one feeding in the morning and one in the evening as your puppy ages. The routine should not vary. As puppies near adulthood, their calorie needs may drop, and your puppy may begin leaving some food in the bowl. Don't misinterpret this as an indication of dislike for the food. Instead, begin offering less so your puppy doesn't overeat and stays in ideal body condition. Nestlé Purina Research indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. Maintaining ideal body condition is key to encouraging proper growth in all puppies, especially large breeds. The indicated amounts are only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight, a reduction of your puppy's daily food intake may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program. FEEDING FOR REPRODUCTION Pro Plan provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's ideal body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation. MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLAN Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Contains a source of live (viable) naturally occurring microorganisms. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.

  1. Perfect for Sonny’s Skin/Stomach Allergies…and He LOVES This Food. Our 7 month old bichon puppy Sonny was recently diagnosed with an allergy to chicken, affecting both his stomach and causing extreme skin itching. When we changed his dry food we first tried a lamb flavor puppy food the vet recommended. (different brand) Sonny didn’t like it. We returned to the pet store and decided to try Purina Pro Plan Puppy-Sensitive Skin and Stomach (salmon and rice) SO glad we did because he LOVES it! He goes bonkers when his bowl is filled. lol. He can be at the other end of the house but when he hears the food being poured into his food bowl, he comes flying into the kitchen, happiest dog in the world. The ingredients are good and nutritious for him. Thankfully, his itching and stomach issues are resolved since switching to this food.I did buy the first bag at a local pet store. When it came time to order another I checked Amazon first and found it a few dollars cheaper. The price went down even further once I signed up for Amazon’s ‘subscribe and save’ plan. I love that I won’t have to remember to stop by the pet store and pick up his food, it will be delivered automatically. He loves it and the 4lb size is perfect for Sonny.

  2. Important for Bulldog Owners. Please note that lamb is very rich and often puppies will vomit the lamb because their GI system isn’t mature enough to digest lamb. Bulldogs are blamed for having allergies to basically everything but this is at least one instance where that may not be the case. So please if your bulldog puppy has vomited lamb, even if it’s every single time, do not swear off lamb completely. By all means stop the lamb but please try again around 18-24 months. Lamb has done wonders for mine, and btw they can’t have lamb & rice, it has to be lamb & oats, because they’re sensitive to rice. So the combo is an important factor when choosing the protein. If you do have a severely food allergic bulldog, avoid feathers, hooves, & fins… so you’ll need kangaroo, alligator, or rabbit. The allergy tests will show allergic for every ingredient your dog has ever ingested, allergic or not, because with every ingredient, your dogs body has made an immune response for it, this is why vets don’t like the tests. Also, all the puppy formulas of all the brands I’ve tried with mine (5 different companies) made them soooo yeasty… but soon as they were old enough for adult formulations the yeast cleared. I do not have science or studies to back up this claim, but if you consider that all the owners of adult bulldogs are telling you in the groups on social media that their bulldog is fine and they only swipe with a baby wipe once a day, and here you are struggling with you puppy’s yeast and doing all you can think of to no avail… perhaps the difference does in fact reside in the formulation differences. You may be thinking that the age difference is what made the difference, that their immune system matures and wards off the yeast, but nope, because I put this to the test as I had to put my female back on this puppy formulation during the last trimester of her pregnancy & her lactation period and lo & behold all the yeast came right back and I mean it was back with a vengeance within 36 hours, and what’s more, soon as she was able to come off the puppy version and start back on the adult version, all that yeast cleared, took 4 days to go away, but it just vanished. Do not switch to adult until your puppy is grown, unless your vet tells you it’s ok, (because they truly need it for proper growth), even if the side effect is yeast that drives you crazy. Also note the Purina is having a probiotic shortage so they’ve removed the probiotics from their kibble, which is annoying AF, but you should be giving a probiotic supplement anyways so it may not have any affect on your bulldog, but I see other breeds struggling with potty time after the change. And, if you see a puppy/dog trying to actually eat things that aren’t food at all, rocks, gravel, dirt, rabbit droppings, grass, weeds, etc, especially if your puppy/dog isn’t taking a probiotic supplement already, this is usually because their kibble has upset the gut bacteria and they are trying to eat other stuff to balance their gut, it’s instinctual, so try adding a probiotic and if your puppy/dog stops trying to eat non-food items, you’ll know to keep them on it. I only like the Purina forti flora and 2 others but I’m unsure if I’m allowed to list because they have a different manufacturer. Please give your dogs omega-3, kibble has omega-6, the 6 acts as an inflammatory, but the 3 that they’re actually deficient in, acts as an anti-inflammatory that will counteract the 6 effect. Also, soft & shiny coats with 3, plus it strengthens their skin barrier and helps to ward off bacteria and yeast. If you try something I’ve mentioned here and it worked for yours, hit the “helpful” button to help others.Rating as a 2 because they removed the probiotics, its yeasty, and my girl prefers the adult versions taste over this one. Also annoyed by the price increase and sad that the lamb doesn’t come in the biggest bag like the salmon does.Just some “Free Game” for everyone, look at me, out here trying to better all the breeds, cross breeds, & non-breeds.Give your dogs some loves for me 🙂

  3. My dogs love it. We have been using this product for 10 months now and our dogs do well on it. We have tow toy poodles and a standard goldendoodle. They look forward to mealtime and, sorry if too descriptive, their poop is well formed and easy to pick up during doody duty.

  4. Great quality. So far this is the only thing my puppy has been able to tolerate. She is so much better since starting this brand of puppy food. Shipping was quick and price is more than reasonable. Will continue to order

  5. Puppy loves it. Weaning him from a chicken blend Bc his poops were a little runny. They seem to be firming up with this.

  6. Picky German shepherd pup loves it. I think I have finally found food that my German Shepard pup actually likes! Previously tried Iams Chicken and Hills Lamb puppy food and it was a chore to get him to finish his meals. With this food, he’s visibly excited for meal time and always finishes his food. Was running low on the previous food so had to start with a 50/50 mixture old to new instead of 75/25. Fortunately, no digestion issues happened. Little pricey but overall very happy with this food!

  7. Not right for my dog.*edited*. My rottie had a lot of dandruff. She didn’t love her other (expensive!!) kibble and she wasn’t eating much of it, but she had mostly solid poops on it. I thought maybe her skin was suffering because she wasn’t getting enough nutrients from the other kibble. This food has made her coat gorgeous, and she loves it but it doesn’t agree with her stomach. At first we thought it was the adjustment period but her poops have been consistently loose since the switch. We tried a bland diet and her poops got better, then tried to reintroduce the food but the loose poops came back immediately. Maybe we’ll try another flavor because she likes it so much and her coat is beautiful.Edit: continued with this formula and tweaked the amount she gets and her stools have improved! Her coat gets flaky sometimes still. We are hoping to find the *perfect* balance eventually.

  9. Helps my pups belly. I had a hard time finding a dog food that would help my pup. She had diarrhea issues on everything. The vet wanted me to pay an astronomical amount for prescription digestive sensitive stomach puppy food. Decided to give this one a go and we finally had solid poops! Definitely recommend! She must like the taste because she eats it. She has been eating this same food for about 8 months. Growing like a weed still. It is hard to find in stores. I stick to subscription delivery through Amazon and never have an issue getting the dog food at the delivery date.

  11. Happy puppy. This really worked for my baby no more dandruff or itching

  12. Healthy, quality food. I’m really happy with this food. Its made with omega 6 and vitamin A. Also with rice in it, it’s easily digestible. This food is made for sensitive stomachs and skin. Which works great for our breed. They are miniature schnauzers and are prone to having pancreatitis. So its reassuring that they are being fed something that helps their digestive system. The puppies love it and their coats look great. They’re shiny and healthy thanks to the fish oil in their food. They havent had a diarrhea or loose stools from eating this. The kibble is a small size to make it easier for them to eat. It doesn’t have a strong smell like you’d expect with it being salmon. There aren’t crazy dyes in it either. The only thing I’ll say is not such a positive thing is the price. But you do have to pay more for quality in most cases. So I don’t mind spending the extra to make sure they’re eating good quality food! Buy it here on amazon for the best price, it’s cheaper than getting it in store or from other retailers!

  15. Works for my pups. Breeders are wanting puppy owners to eat the chicken based puppy food. However, neither of my dogs liked it. So I switch them to the salmon here and they Did an are doing much better With this protein. Since then, I’ve heard quite a few people at my vet clinic have mentioned their puppies don’t seem to be hungry. I recommend switching their protein.

  16. This is really delicious. My mom gives me this kibble. It’s pretty good, small and crunchy. My big brother always tries to steal it from me so I think he likes it too. My fur is so soft and fluffy. Mom says I’m handsome, whatever that means. So give your puppy this food too and he’ll be happy and cute like me.

  18. Perfect for our cavapoo puppy. Cavapoos have sensitive tummy’s and this is perfect for our girl. Maybe too much information but her poops are consistently firm now 😂 Really helps with potty training! I also can’t find this in any store near us so it’s perfect that I can order it to be delivered right to our house.

  19. Great puppy food. My breeder and vet recommended this brand and style of food. It’s been a high quality food, doesn’t smell horrible, enhanced his coat shine, and most importantly doesn’t give him diarrhea. It’s a bit costly but for the benefits (nutrients, food source, probiotics, etc) it’s worth it to me.

  20. Dogs love it so far, but it’s expensive. I usually use the Large Breed Puppy food, however one of my GSD has developed EPI and the other gets itchy at times on the front of his legs.My dogs have not shown much interest in the previous two 40 lb bags of Large Breed Puppy, but LOVES the flavor of this Sensitive stuff.WHAT I DONT LIKE is how the high the price is. $70 for 24 lbs is kinda ridiculous. If it wasn’t for my dog having EPI issues that need immediate attention, I probably would have tried different brand’s Sensitive formula.I will be updating this if I come upon any issues.
