Comfy Shoes, Slightly Smaller Than Expected. I’ve heard a lot of praise for Brooks shoes, since I had worked at a factory type job where I was on my feet 10 hours a day. I’ve changed jobs but now I’m on my feet 12 hours, and all my other shoes are worn out, which causes my hips to hurt when wearing them for more than an hour or two.Overall, Brooks seem to be very comfortable shoes. However, I normally wear a U.S. size 8.5, rarely a size 9 and occasionally 8.5 wide depending on how the shoe is made. I bought the usual size, but didn’t use the “try before you buy” option since I needed them that week. As it turns out, for this particular shoe I need a size 9; they’re a little too short and a little too tight. They fit and have broken in over the past few days, but they’d be more comfortable with the slightly larger size. I didn’t dock the comfort star for that, because that was my own personal error in judgment. My heels hurt throughout the day when wearing these. I don’t know if that’s because I’m getting used to being on my feet for extended hours again or because the shoes don’t offer as much padding on the heel as I’d prefer. I’ve docked the star on comfort (and overall rating) in part because of the heel pain and in part because I feel like they could use a little more arch support. That being said, my hips aren’t hurting after wearing them and I’m recovering well on my days off–so I know they’re supporting my feet well. They’re still very comfortable shoes, and they’re also about as cute as sneakers get. I might not buy them again for work depending if my heels continue to hurt over the next few weeks, but I’d definitely buy them for general wear or workout use.
No break-in, great support. I had a pair of Ghost 14s that I’d worn out. This recent pair I went with a Wide and oh my goodness, it’s made a huge difference. I usually wear insoles to help with flat feet and prevent plantar fasciitis – the first two weeks I barely noticed I hadn’t switched my insoles over. The Wide width toebox gives my feet room without feeling like they’re sliding around and by using the snuggest top hole, helps control for my narrow heels (my feet are odd – C/D width across the balls of my feet, narrow width heels).I slipped them on right out of the box and they felt amazing. I didn’t feel like I had to “get used to them” or break them in. I did swap the laces for some printed flat laces and that was mostly easy – one or two eyelets needed a bit of work while threading the laces, but as I change my laces rarely, I don’t see this as an issue. I wear these to the gym for strength training and occasionally out if I’m walking a lot.I’m also grateful I managed to catch these on sale – they’re worth it at full price, but on sale just makes the purchase all the better!
The only running shoe that stays consistently great over years of redesign. I find that running shoes are very personal to the person, so if you find that the Brooks Ghosts work for you, they will be the only running shoe that you will ever need. I have been buying different versions of the ghost for many years now and the best thing about them is that they changed very little over time. Brooks has kept these consistent. They are a great quality and will last you and support your joints through a full year of consistent running and longer if you use them for casual purposes. I wore one of these versions for two full years over Covid, and they held up great.
Best Sneakers I Have Ever Owned. I cannot speak for anyone other than myself, but I walk miles, and miles every day. These are the best fitting, most comfortable, most supportive and most durable sneakers I have ever owned. Not to mention the laces are very well made and stay tied.In fact, I bought 4 other pairs just so I would be able to wear them for the next 2 years. (They come in tons of colors, so Brooks must have known they had a hit on their hands!)I try to keep my sneakers for about 6 months. “Try” is the operative word, here. That won’t be a problem with these. Hats off the Brooks for making a superior product!
More cushion than the 13 or the Glycerin 20. Been with the Ghost since the 12s. This one is the best. Bought this to replace my 13s -which did fabulous walking all over Europe on a 2 week vacation. I stand on my feet in pharmacy all day, and these are the only shoes I can wear. I love these Ghost 14s. Super comfy out of the box. Really thinking of getting another pair of these. I’m not a fan of the new dna loft midsole. It is not as much cushion as these. This Ghost14 has a great heel strike, roll through, and cushion for standing. Returned the Glycerin 20 and GlycerinStealth fit 20 and bought these and another Glycerin19 from another retailer. Please bring back the foam cushion like these! So bouncy!
I have never been so happy in my life. I have very narrow feet and now that I am in my 50s, I’m getting pickier about my shoes. I bought these for walking and running on the advice of my son who inherited my narrow feet. From the minute I put them on, I was in love. They are the first pair of shoes I have owned that are narrow enough for my feet (I ordered the narrow). And they have perfect cushioning. They were comfortable from the very first run. I plan to buy more pairs so that I have them when these wear out.
Brooks. I love brooks shoes and they are comfortable and light weight and fit nice! Cute style and awesome traction and support for running!
Great shoes. I am obsessed with Brooks sneakers! They fit right and feel great and they have some fun colors!
All day foot comfort. I worked for a company that had me on my feet all day long. The first few weeks I just don’t know how I made it. My feet hurt all the time. Then I found ghost shoe. Oh, what a difference that made. I could walk all day and my feet never hurt. I told other people about it. They went and got some too. Their feet didn’t hurt anymore either. I bought two pair and switched back-and-forth every other day. They lasted me two years at work. But I still kept them and I still wear them and they still feel good. You can buy them on Amazon or at Dick‘s. They are super good shoes.
Love my brooks. Brooks are my go to brand for running shoes. After an injury I went to a local running shoe company who measures your height and weight, and an employee watches how you walk and run on a treadmill to see if your feet tend to lean in/out, etc and recommended brooks ghost 14. The running store went out of business but I have been purchasing from amazon ever since. I’ve had this pair a year now. The pics are of the shoe one year later. I try to run at least 4 miles a day, sometimes 6. I do alternate with another pair of brooks ghost but you can see the shoe holds up well, is still in great condition, tread has run down but that’s normal. I think the style is super cute and the ghost 14 provides me with a perfect amount of support. I’m a 7.5 and always size up to an 8. Super easy to keep clean (I run in all weather including snow and rain-great traction), I wipe them down with a baby wipe after use and stuff them with newspapers to dry them out when wet. They still run great and are so comfortable, 1 year later, although I’ll need to replace soon due to normal tread wear and tear. Buy these!
