Great app and great design. This works awesome. Got it for my pool. Now it is on a schedule that I set up. I love it! Now I can go out and know the pump will come on & off between the times I set it. And it also works well with Alexa!!The design is great too. Follow the directions and face the two outlets downward. There is a little lip that goes around the outlet area so water drips off onto the ground and not into the outlets themselves (unless maybe you get that rain with sideways wind). But outlet takes in plug securely. I had no issues with this.Took a little to get use to the app. But nothing crazy. I found setting the timer for something doesn’t just turn it on. You have to actually turn your device on in the app, then set timer. Now it is so easy and convenient. Also nice to be able to turn my pool pump on and off from my phone. Nice having two outlets that work separately from each other. With excess rain we have gotten lately, it was nice to be able to operate a water pump to relieve the pool of excess water, without unplugging the pool pump plug. Also without disturbing schedule setup for the pool pump on the app.My router is about 25 feet from where I use this plug. I’ve had no issues with Wi-Fi connection.Wish I would have found this a long time ago.
Easy as pie. Ordered this on Prime day. These were purchased for out back. I’ve constantly been having to plug my string lights in,but not anymore! Setup was beyond easy. Download app (which is user friendly) and connect to your wifi. From there, I was able to add this device to Alexa and Samsung Smart Things. I will say it’s easier and faster to go directly to Alexa and simply add the device there, rather than Kasa’s ‘third party’ activation area in their app. The whole setup was maybe five minutes including testing to make sure it works. Will it hold up to the rain?? Fingers crossed. The plug comes with hardware to attach the plug in a downwards facing direction. Attach meaning attach to the wall etc. This means the outlets will always be facing down and not up. I’m not doing all that simply because I believe I lack the drill bit necessary for the exterior of where my outlet is located. Totally fine by me, though. I’ll get to it when I get to it. I’ll end with the feel of the product and the ease of setup has me interested in what else this brand offers. Would definitely recommend this product.
Works Great and Long Lasting. I have used this outdoor Remote controlled plug for four to five years now and am quite pleased with it. We use it to turn on our fence lights after sunset. I keep it outdoors under the patio but it does get rain splashing on it. Years of being outside have not harmed it in any way I can tell. You can easily set a schedule using the phone app OR you can program it to turn on/off based on automatically determined local sunset/sunrise times. This so handy because a set time schedule needs to be adjusted as daylight changes. I prefer this type of timer over ones that use a solar cell because cloudy days turn the lights on at unexpected intervals.I have read some negative comments about initially programming the unit. Kasa keeps trying to address this by making the interface more user friendly. HOWEVER, I prefer to just exit the automatic stuff and set mine up manually. Once you figure the manual process out you can use it on any Kasa device.
Most reliable outdoor product available. I have many other brands for outdoor-indoor automation. The product is bar far the quickest and easiest to set up and this has the longest range of any controller I have seen:for example:its working without a hub, and operating in a greenhouse that is over 100 feet from the router that is inside a house. There are windows, trees and more windows the 2 walls in between and it still stays online.Another exceptional feature is their Kasa app for Iphones. The initial wifi connection is the best I have seen, in terms of how simplified, easy and quick the installation is. All you need is their single page instructions which is smaller than an Iphone. The app is equally easy to use with its simplified brilliant design.
Wi-Fi!!! Love IT. I bought the plug for my barbershop and I had problems with the setup initially. I called the tech help and I believe his name was Hanson and he was great help. I love that fact that you can control power from the phone and that there’s a setting for automatic turn on and off for the plug. Depending on how this works over the long term, I will buy another plug in and maybe other products as well.
Kasa Outdoor Smart Plu. The Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug is a sturdy, reliable device that works when you need it to and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.PROSWorks with Alexa, Google Assistant, SmartThings, and IFTTTEasy to set up with intuitive mobile appAffordably priced for two-outlet deviceCONSNo support for Siri or HomeKitNo power usage reportingShould you buy it?Yes. The TP-Link Outdoor Smart Plug is sturdy as heck, easy to set up, and offers two smart plugs in one device, and honestly, that’s all you need out of a product like this. It gets the job done reliably and I didn’t want to throw my phone through a wall while trying to get it to respond to Alexa and Google Assistant. For only twenty bucks, this is a solid deal, particularly given that comparable options are often in the “much more than $20” range.
Works great for controlliing outdoor lights. I got a few of these to be able to control our outdoor holiday lights and the string lights on the porches. We previously had solar sensor timers that would come on at dusk and stay on for 2, 4, or 6 hours, however I set them. But because the lights were plugged in on different sides of the house, they received different amounts of sunlight and they came on and shut off at different times. With these outlets, I was able to schedule everything to come on at the exact same time, and shut off at the exact same time. We leave certain light displays up longer through the winter than others and being able to change the lighting schedule with my phone and not having to go outside to fiddle with individual outlets has been a dream. We leave string lights on the porches most of the year and I am able to easily change the schedule so they come on later in the day as the days get longer and we still have daylight until 6pm, then 7pm, etc.We have a rental property where we use Heat Trak mats to melt the snow and ice on the porch and I added an outlet there so I can turn the mats on only when it is snowing or if there is freezing rain.Although I choose to schedule our lights at the same time, each of the outlets can be managed independently. I will be adding one of these double outlets to our small pond to be able to manage the pump with one outlet and the lighting around it separately. These outlets have given me peace of mind and make outdoor lighting SO much easier to manage.

Great outdoor smart plug and reliable. I’ve been using this smart plug for over a year now and it’s been great. ZERO connection issues and it’s been outside the whole time (covered patio). The plug has definitely gotten wet (not completely soaked) and hasn’t had any issues.Very easy to use with Google Home and easy to connect to.Comes with outlet covers if one of the plug isn’t being used.2 buttons on the outside to manually turn on each plug separately.Seems to be made from quality materials.I own 2 and haven’t had any issues with any of them.Used 100% of the time, every time of the year. From summer to winter. No issues.
Nice Outdoor Smart Plug. I was looking for an outdoor smart plug to compliment my indoor smart lights. Found this Kasa smart plug which is app controled and easy to download and set up. It was also easy to connect to my Wi-Fi and works perfectly as described. I have set a schedule for my lights to turn on and turn off and it has two plugs that operate independent of each other. I recommend.
Kasa is my preferred light automation for the house. I bought 2 of these for running Christmas lights. I think Kasa is the most responsive and reliable of the dozens of home automation options on the market. Open the app and press a button and immediate response from the device. As with the dozen of other Kasa products I have running in the house, this one worked well. Easy to schedule or add to my already existing routines. I like the sunset/sunrise built-in scheduling option, it makes outdoor light scheduling super easy.
Works great when connected to Apple Home. I product this recently to automate my outdoor lights. This smart plug is Matter compatible, which is why I chose this verses the other Kasa Smart plug with HomeKit support. Works seemlessly with KASA app. Setup was very easy. I also have this device added to Apple Home, setup was easy with that as well. The issue I have with this is it keeps disconnecting from Apple Home randomly. And the only way to recover from this is to remove the device and re-add. Device can still be controlled from the KASA app during this. This is a little bit annoying to keep removing and re-adding to Apple Home where all my automations are.I have reached out to TPlink support for this issue. With a few emails back and forth, it was concluded that I should update to the new firmware for the EP40M device. Not sure about the version# of this new firmware, because I already have v1.0.2. Waiting for a response from the support team on the specifics. Will update here once I hear back. Btw, the TPlink support was very prompt in responding to my issue.
Love Kasa products. We got this smart plug for our Christmas lights and it works great. We have several Kasa switches in our house and have been pleased with them all. The app is very user friendly and intuitive. This switch was extremely simple to add to the app and get set up. Most of the time with these devices they need to update the firmware on the first use, and it automatically prompts you when setting it up and takes no time at all. I like that because it makes sure on your first use the product is going to be as up to date as possible. Both sides of the switch are independently programable via the app which makes it very handy for multiple items to get power. What is really cool is that it doesn’t just have to be a set time on and off. You can choose to have the sockets activate at sunset or a set time. You can program it for different days of the week to do different things. It is extremely versatile and easy to use.We have it hooked up under a covered area so I can’t speak to its weather proofing, but given their reputation I would believe whatever the listing says about it. It is very affordable and Amazon usually has sales on Kasa devices as well. It’s time to upgrade your old light timer to something like this….you won’t regret it!
Tell Alexa to light up everything. We absolutely love this. It works with Alexa. We have all of our outside Halloween decorations plugged into this and we just sit inside and ask her to turn them all on. It will be great for our Christmas lights when it gets really cold!! Great item and easy app to set it up!
Easy set up, impressive app. Love it. Solid build quality, easy set up via the app. Easy to connect to Google home. Impressed and definitely recommend to others
Product works well. Watch the You Tube from “Gauging Gadgets” when setting up. Watching the You Tube really saved time and helped in the Wi-Fi Outdoor plug set up. We are using for our outdoor fountain. Features seem to be solid; cord is 8″ long and it thick. Seems to be made of good material.

Reliable and Convenient. The Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug is a reliable and convenient way to control outdoor devices remotely. With its weather-resistant design and compatibility with major smart home platforms like Alexa and Google Home, it offers effortless integration into existing setups. The plug’s two sockets provide ample space for connecting multiple devices, and the lack of a required hub simplifies installation. While the aesthetics might not be for everyone, its functionality and ease of use make it a solid choice for those seeking to enhance their outdoor smart home experience.

Love this smart plug. We used this to replace an old mechanical timer for our Christmas lights. Much easier to install and it’s much more precise than a mechanical timer. And I can turn the lights for extra time from my phone. Been in place for about 3 weeks (with lots of cold, lots of rain, and some snow) without any issues.
Kasa is my go to. These Kasa outdoor plugs are great.Easy to set up, waterproof. Saves money and effort on timers. They are easy to install and hide. Work fantastically from the iPhone app.I have about 6 of these, use for fans, lights, seasonal decorations…..
Good product, works as advertised. Found the outdoor outlet easy to pair with the app. Working well on both Android and Apple. Hang upside down as recommended for better protection from wind, rain and snow.
Works perfect. Great smart plug. I use it for my Christmas decorations and have created a schedule. It turns on and off automatically and I don’t have to worry about shutting anything off. I bought two, because I keep on adding more and more decorations 🫢 I haven’t had any problems or issues with connectivity, once you connect with your network, it works great. It is easy to use, and there are instructions on how to connect with your phone and internet. You can set a schedule as I mentioned above, and you can enjoy your Christmas decorations or whatever you are using it for without having to constantly worry whether it’s on or off. It is very convenient, I’ve used it for 2 years, and just last year I bought another one. I connect several lights that I use in one outlet, but try not to overload it much.
Wonderful outdoor plug – great for outdoor decorations. We know have six of these Kasa outdoor plugs that are used mostly for outdoor decorations and we could not be happier with them. They have held up over multiple seasons worth of weather – no failures or issues at all thus far. They are dead simple to use and the app is very useful. Setting schedules is a breeze which works great for decorations. I set these up across our house, rename/label the plugs as needed, and set up schedules. After that I don’t have to think about it at all which is what I want. Manual on/off is handy for testing and for using something quickly without needed to remove the plug.
Works great with Alexa. I needed a double outdoor smart plug to operate my deck water fountain and attached lights. I own several Kasa smart plugs for indoor use and have always found them to be reliable and easy to setup. This outdoor plug is no exception. I can have Alexa turn on and off the water fountain and lights independently. During the winter, I replace the lights with a de-icer to keep my water fountain from freezing so that the birds still have water. De-icers are notorious for tripping the GFCI, but so far, not a single trip this winter, even with long stretches of negative temps. I have owned this Kasa smart plug for about eight months now, and I am very happy with my purchase.
