Bought for jerkey. I like the square shelves. Need to cut jerkey a little thicker as they seem to dry more thoroughly and thinner then when I was skewering them and hanging in the oven.I’ve used it for herbs and berries as well.Very happy with the temperature range.Easy to clean. Not hard on the eyes.The shelf liners and grabby grabbers are helpful too.
Cool little dehydrator. The only bummer is, I forget to use it until some type of fruit is about to go out of season! And then I can’t stop eating what I dehydrate. I last dehydrated peaches. Last year it was persimmons. If you dehydrate big chunks, it makes everything taste like a raisin. Big chunks being, cut in halves. Smaller slices make fruit turn into gummy candy. Great to save for winter but here it gets eaten within the week no matter how much I make. You might eat 2 fresh peaches in one sitting. I can easily eat 4 dehydrated peaches and get up for more.
Nice and quiet. Made homemade raisins and some beef jerky, couldn’t be happier with the results, jerky got done faster than expected. We are getting older, so size and weight factored into this purchase. Just the right size for moving around and not too heavy like our old one. Looking forward to making a lot more jerky in the future and dried fruit. Great product, would recommend .

Absolutely love the dehydrator. I chose the Magic Mill dehydrator because of the features. Easy to program, easy to use, small manual with time/temp suggestions. We have owned it for about 4 weeks and have used it nearly every day.
Huge Improvement over round dehydrator. I have had this dehydrator for 2 months now and have run at least 2 dozen cycles. I had a round stackable dehydrator that served me well, but I now do more than it can handle. The round shape is not really conducive for dehydrating as it wastes a lot of space and for fruit leathers make them an odd shape for storage. The rectangular shape on this dehydrator is able to fit a lot more stuff. I have made apple chips, dried sweet potatoes and beets, fruit leathers, and beef jerky. It has all come out great. Had to do some trial and error on the temperature and times due to the larger batches, but I have now used it for a couple months and have dialed in the times and temperatures for most of the normal stuff I dehydrate.I love the timer function. My last dehydrator was just plugged in so you had to be around at the end of the drying time to unplug it to stop or risk over drying stuff. Now I can start something at night and have it end on its own in the middle of the night and then unpack it in the morning. So much better.The metal trays have worked great and are easy to clean. They seem to be well constructed (ie I haven’t seen any broken welds). I run them through the dishwasher to clean them. No rusting or coatings. Apple chips pop right off whole with no problem. I did some strawberries that stuck pretty good, but I think the problem was I did them too thin and they all broke off in pieces than coming off whole. Will eventually try again next year during strawberry season. Beef jerky (marinated sliced steak type) comes right off, no sticking at all. I bought some fine mesh plastic trays to use just in case, but haven’t needed to use them yet.The dehydrator dries things pretty evenly regardless of where it is in the machine. I have loaded all 7 trays with apple slices and as long as they are all the same thickness (definitely need a mandolin slicer) they dry evenly regardless if they are in the front, back, top, or bottom. I have not needed to rotate a tray for any of the stuff I have done.

Works very well, Quiet, Beware of hot pepper fumes. It’s easy to use, quiet, has digital temp to the degree F, and time to the half hour. I’ve dehydrated figs, habanero peppers, bush beans, and bananas so far. There’s plenty of room to dehydrate maybe 6-8 sliced bananas. I would warn you to set up a carbon filter nearby, or good ventilation, if you’re planning on dehydrating hot peppers and are sensitive to fumes. Also be mindful of filling your home with hot pepper fumes if you have pets. It can get VERY uncomfortable in your home if you fill it full of hot peppers!I bought a bunch of extra silicone trays since I think it only came with 2, and you should always keep one on the bottom of the dehydrator to catch juices. It’s a simple machine, but it doesn’t need to be complicated! I put the dehydrated habaneros in a blender and pulsed them a few times to make hot pepper flakes. I cut ~2mm wide slices of banana to make crispy flakes perfect for cereal or by themselves. I’m also pleasantly surprised with how well the bush beans worked – they snap! Overall, this is a fun and useful gadget for which most people will find lots of uses.

I would like to given this a MINUS 10.Whilst it was working it was great.It has died after 2 1/2 years, which works out about £150 a year!I have contacted the company however no response.I need to try and find a way to obtain a refund as 2 1/2 years is NOT reasonable AND try and find an appliance which will be value for money and work long term!Amazon should also be able to help if the appliance has not had a decent life span.After ignoring my emails via amazon, I contacted them directly and asked how the life span of their dehydrators should be. They agreed more than 2 years.I stated how long this had worked for, and they said we only give a years warranty and to take that into consideration when buying….and dismissed the cost of this for years working.I will never recommend nor buy any of their products again.I suggest anyone looking to purchase any of their products work out, the cost via warranty.Would you be happy to replace the product after that time frame, due to what was paid for?
Works well for spices and meats–looks good too. We purchased this Magic Mill Pro Food Dehydrator specifically for spices that we grow in the garden. It has worked very well for that purpose. Usually takes about 36 hours for spice leaves to dehydrate, and then we place them in a chopper and they come out like store-bought spices in a jar. Makes great holiday gifts. We have also tried making jerky with the machine, and it worked well but with all machines you have to keep an eye on the jerky to make sure it’s at the consistency you want. Only negative I have with this machine is the settings. For some reason it gives you only a certain amount of seconds to set temp and time, then they all go back to zero and you have to start again to program. Not a huge deal, but annoying. A real positive is that it is relatively quiet. It also looks nice and fits under your cabinets, so you can keep it on the counter at all times if you have the space. It would be great if this came with a nice book detailing how long and hot you should set the unit for different items (spices, fruit, meat, etc.) but it really doesn’t provide much direction at all. You’ll need to search online or just trial and error for recipes.

All in all, this product is awesome and what you get for what it costs makes it incredibly high value!
