  1. Good for for supervised play or non-chewers. First, let me say that the dogs LOVED this toy, so I would give it 5 stars for pup appeal. That said, it didn’t last a month, so I gave it 3 stars for durability (see more about that below). Disappointing for a KONG toy, to say the least, but to be fair, we weren’t strict about supervising play until we could see how it lasted. Having had such good luck with the Stuff-A-Ball, I wasn’t too worried. I should have been.Construction: This was a big toy (as one might expect from a toy labelled “extra large”), and measured about 16″ long and around 3″ across the widest part of the body. The large “belly” ball is a large, soft rubber squeaker with a relatively high pitch that was quite loud. The small ball at the top was a standard “dog-safe” tennis ball. The whole apparatus is covered in a nylon “canvas” that is pretty durable for tug play. The cover is held in place with bands of the same fabric where the two balls meet and where the tail is joined to the bottom. That bottom band was the Wubba’s downfall here. The dogs: Breque is a 35# Red Heeler/Kelpie mix, who is very high energy and hard-playing. She has outgrown chewing, but loves to work her powerful jaws on things (she can pop a new regulation tennis ball), and to shake and throw toys around. Lance is an 80# Lab-Pit mix, about 2 years old, who would much rather lie around and maul – not chew, maul – things. He picks threads to open toys so he can pull the squeakers out, de-furs fuzzy toys (picks the fur out one tuft at a time), unlaces shoes, and mauls anything with any sort of resistance. Breque could probably have played with the Wubba for a long time (in fact, she has a smaller version), but Lance mauled it in half. Literally. The fabric band at the base gathers the rest of the cover together and joins it to the tails. That means there are some small, semi-rigid pleats, and a lovely (and probably otherwise sturdy) band of fabric that just begs to be mauled. Lance picked at the pleats until they gave way and then chewed the tails off.On a good note: the tails have survived a lot of tugging and shaking and chewing since the demise of the original toy, and I stuffed the supersized squeaker in an old sock to make a new toy for supervised play. Unfortunately, the two just aren’t as appealing as the original toy, so they don’t get much attention unless there’s a human involved. For supervised play or for dogs who have matured out of the chewing/mauling stage, I would still definitely recommend the Wubba. Our dogs loved it both for interactive play and as the go-to toy to entertain themselves, and we may try again once Lance gets past the Mr. Destructo stage.

  2. I love the KONG Wubba Dog Toy! And so does my dog. I love the KONG Wubba Dog Toy! And so does my dog! The top round bit is a tough little knob, the larger round bit is a squeaky ball. The outer cover is a really sturdy woven nylon fabric. Mine came in the color red. I got size “Large” for my dog, and it was a perfect size for him.I have a 1 year old Australian Shepherd. He has a moderate chew drive. This toy stands up to his moderate chew drive very well.Rowdy’s favorite way to “solo-play” with this toy is to shake it back and forth vigerously so that the ball is whacking him in the side, or if he is holding the ball, the tails are hitting him in the side. He also likes to toss it on the ground for himself to watch it bounce away, or push the squeaker with his nose with the toy on the floor. For “interactive play”, we like to go outside and throw that sucker across the yard! Rowdy loves to chase it, it bounces somewhat erratically when he hits the ground, which makes for more mental stimulation for him. When Rowdy grabs it, he shakes it around as he does in “solo-play” while bringing it back to us, and then he returns it, eager for another toss. Occasionally he will want to play tug games when he returns it. And we let him decide! This toy is a great confidence builder, too. If you “let your dog win” the tug games more often than not, that is very good for their confidence level. And when he has to “figure it out” after the ball has bounced in unexpected directions, he sure feels proud of himself for being successful! It’s great to watch my overly timid dog come out of his shell and develop the confidence he needs!Overall, I am thrilled with this toy! Though we haven’t experienced it, I am fairly certain it would survive getting soaked by sprinklers and dry just fine. I do think, however, that I would not recommend this toy for anyone who has a “serious chewer”. I do not believe the tails would stand up to very focused chewing. But for the average dog, I believe this is a great toy. And well worth it’s cost.

  3. Was a favorite tug toy. Overall a great toy, lasted a long time given the fact that it got played with repeatedly throughout the day. My pit terrier mix dog had a hard time grabbing the larger ball part to play tug of war but as pictured the smaller ball at the top got ripped off at one point and left it like this

  4. A well-loved toy. Our husky is a chewer and a chaser and she loves this toy. She can fling it around or up in the air, fetch it when it’s thrown for her, or chew on it during quiet time. These toys last a long time although not forever so as soon as it starts to tear I replace it. We have two or three new ones on hand at all times for that reason. It is probably her favorite toy.

  5. My puppy’s favorite. My pittie mix puppy loves this toy. It has a very loud squeaker, she can grasp the ball end or the tail, and we can throw for her to fetch or hold the tail and play tug of war. This toy has everything she loves and she hasn’t managed to shred the tail ends.

  6. Kong toys. My Australian Shepherd, Kailani loves her Kong toys. She loves her wubba. It’s one of her favorite toys to play with. Kong toys are made to last and they are easy to clean. Kong products are worth the as they last as you can wash them and get all the puppy kisses off of them!

  7. Best for dock diving. My malinois chomps down on it so it has a short life. Probably fine for a dog with a lesser bite. Still my favorite for dock diving.

  8. Hack With-In. Over the 10+ years have been lucky enough to have a dog in my life have had many versions of these. Used to get one & it would last years. Now lasts weeks/month. Fabric is softer/less sturdy leading to ease destruction. The fabric collars that separate the two rubber balls inside & seals the 2 balls in the fabric shell tend to separate where stitched together – I have a fix for that which GREATLY increases the life of these that is simple, easy, inexpensive.Zip ties. I get whatever size is cheapest in a 20 pack. I zip tie the bottom fabric gasket & a 2nd to retain form/separate the 2 balls (smaller from larger). Any sharp edges on the zip ties can be softened or rounded to prevent injury by melting & molding sharp edges smooth in the hard plastic zip ties with a wand lighter (just practice safety). This saved one Kong that was 8 years old @ another that was days old from this seller (when both would’ve been trash-bound).These are then good for fetch, tug, shaking. For those dogs that tend to lie there & destroy (I.e. puppies/adolescent ~ 1 yr old “destructive stage”) – these will need supervision & removal to prevent shredding/eating the flappy material & help teach appropriate play.

  9. Great toy as long as your dog doesn’t chew on it. I was so excited to get this toy because I figured my dogs would love it….and they did! However, after about 10 minutes with it, the top was completely destroyed making it not safe for my dogs to play with anymore. I considered just cutting the top ball off, but that would leave the fabric open on the bottom one which isn’t safe either. 🫤 I wouldn’t consider my dogs aggressive chewers, but I guess for the purpose of this toy they would be. The toy really is made for tossing/tugging and it seems like it would be great for that. It says it is made to withstand light/moderate chewing, I don’t know that I agree with that. Perhaps on the streamer parts, but definitely not the top. If your dog isn’t a chewer, this is a great toy-well made, good price and great concept. If your dog likes to chew at all I wouldn’t recommend it simply because it will be destroyed very quickly.

A favorite toy for our two dogs. This is the toy that our dogs will pick out from their “toy box” every time from a wide selection of chew and tug toys, bones, balls, etc. They will sometimes even engage in tug of war with each other. We know from experience that this is a dog toy that is durable and will withstand a lot of use and wear. The first one we owned lasted maybe 10 years and was even passed from one generation of dogs to the next. My only comment is that if you have an aggressive chewer, you should probably use this toy for supervised play. The fabric and stitching is tough but a determined chewer can still destroy it.

  11. May be Kong but not strong enough. Lasted less than a month with my 6 mo cattlehound. Had high hopes as the fabric is thick and sturdy but once he got the tie around the ball off, this thing was doomed. Om the bright side, he has a really rubbery nee ball to play with, after he also seemed to manage to get the plastic squeakers on each end to come off- which is hazardous, just so you know, KONG.

  12. My Great Dane loves it. This is one of the few toys my Great Dane has NOT ripped apart! He loves toys that squeak and usually has them torn apart in 15 mins. This has held up beautifully! It squeaks , it bounces, we play tug, and he hasn’t ripped it to shreds. The size is great even for him. I highly recommend it.

  13. Tough and fun. This is about our 5th wubby. Best toy for my two big dogs to play tug-o-war with. We always have a newer wubby in the house and an older one outside. This toy holds up over time!

Not durable for heavy chewers. To start with my dog is a 2yr old female pitbull ~60lbs. She absolutely loves this toy to death. She’s a power chewer so this doesn’t stand up long at all if I just leave it out for her. So I normally put it away when I’m not actively playing with her with it. Although it’s not the most durable, I’ve bought multiple now because she likes them so much.

  16. Big hit with lab puppy. We have a 5 month old lab puppy who LOVES this thing. She’s very tough on toys but this one has held up surprisingly well so far. She can drag it, chew it and squeak it, all with the classic durability of a Kong. Only negative I can think of is the squeaker she loves is SO LOUD. But worth it to keep her entertained for a bit! I can foresee us buying more of these over time.

  17. Durable toy, great for dogs and horses. Very durable toy. Dog loves it! Horse doesn’t play with his as far as I can tell. Will buy again!

  18. Good quality, relatively durable. My German Shepherd likes these toys. Have had a few of them over time. She eventually destroys them, gets into the inner parts and makes a mess. It’s a good thing. Found it takes her 3-4 weeks to finally gnaw them open. Make good tug o’ war toy!

  19. Perfect Toy. I have a border collie and this is the only toy we buy him. It lasts longer than any others, he loves whipping it around, playing tug and eventually pulling it apart. One toy will keep him occupied for weeks. For an intelligent and super active dog that’s saying a lot. We’ve tried pretty much every toy available and this is the only one that we get our moneys worth out of.

  20. Great Dog Toy. Very sturdy toy and loud squeaker. Last one is still great play for the doggo but she has nearly torn it apart finally so we got some more.
