  1. Seems to work, but confusing to me. I am comparing this collar/controller to another brand I had used last year. This collar seems to work ok, and I think the dog responds to the signals when it works. However, I have a hard time understanding what’s happening in the controller and at the collar. First of all, it looks like a black box. There are some hieroglyphics that appear on the hand controller when it is turned on, but I’m still not sure how I’m adjusting the vibration and shock strength. I’m not sure to understand battery level, even though I suspect it is clearly displayed it’s still confusing to me. The only thing I’m pretty sure of is that I can hear a tone when I push the tone button – that’s my hope that it’s working. When I turn on the collar I get some sort of green infinity sign, And when I turn it off I get a red one. But if I have it on the dog for a while and I turn it off after using, it gives me the green sign. So was it off all this time and re-turning on???? Did it turn off automatically or time out??? I don’t get it. I imagine myself pushing the tone vibrate button and wondering why the dog isn’t responding to the signal when it was turned itself off sometime ago. And there’s some sort of lock feature, but when I activated the lock, it appeared to lock ME out so that my pushing the buttons did nothing. At least that’s what it seemed to me. The instructions should be adequate, there’s a quick start guide, etc, but maybe I have A.D.D. or something because I can’t force my brain to focus on the instructions long enough to get to the punch line and understand what is going on. In summary, the black box design looks space-age and streamlined, but it’s complicated for the info it gives, and I am uncertain that it’s working the way I want it to work. I feel like I would be better off building one in my basement with an analog single button and no digital display that works when I push it and I know what is going on. That’s all I really need anyway.

  2. It’s pretty big and heavy. Our young adult cat has some behavioral issues that need correction, and I’ve been looking for a solution. Google suggested shock collar training. This one was rated for all sizes of dogs and was very similar to one that I found designed for cats, with a wider range of settings. She’s about 10 pounds, and while the collar is adjustable to fit smaller dogs, it’s huge on our cat. She can’t wear it for more than an hour or so at a time, but when she is wearing it, she behaves much better, knowing I’m paying attention to what she’s doing. The beep is used for positive reinforcement. It gets her attention and she gets a treat from me if I use it. The vibration does give pause, and it gets her attention. The shock works but I only reserve it for when she doesn’t acknowledge the vibration-on lowest setting is enough to coax her down from the table after she ignores the buzz of the vibration. I did try the shock on myself, and it’s much milder than my tens unit. Not sure why the instructions state not to, because I wanted to know it’s not strong enough to hurt her! I would never turn it above level 2 for her training, though. It’s just a little static charge, and it gets her attention on the lowest setting, so no need to crank it up. I’ve only had her wear it a few times and while she’s pretty stubborn, it’s helping. She is a lot better behaved when it’s off, and that’s my goal. If it were more compact, lighter, and on a 1/2″ collar instead, it would be a better fit for puppies and average sized cats.

  3. Dog Training collar. My 14 month old pup hardly reacts to it when I have to use it and it is turned up all the way. But he is very abliging to let me put it on him and I show him the remote and he will stop barking for a little bit, but as for running off, he just keeps going. When I take it off of him he seems to get upset. He keeps nosing it.

  4. Best training tool. First thing I will say is I never Shock my dog. So I can’t say how well that works. Why I love this collar is it has 3 functions. It beeps, vibrates and shocks.I have a seven month old boxer on the high end of the weight scale. She is a big, strong puppy. And she is crazy. Hyper active, very playful and doesn’t know her own strength. She isn’t aggressive at all but looks dangerous. She knows what I say to her but chooses to ignore me. Jumping on people is the worst. The first time I put the collar on her and she refused to come back when I called her I just beeped her and she stopped on the spot and looked at me. I said, come here, and she ran to me and sat down. It just gets her attention. The vibration works when she is doing something I don’t want her too, like chewing the rugs. The vibration followed by a strong no has worked very well on breaking her bad behaviors.Used correctly it’s wonderful. She actually gets excited to have her collar on of a morning. It’s crazy, but she loves it too.Now she comes when I beep her, sits down and I have her full attention. She no longer steals food off the kitchen counter or plows into people.I would highly recommend watching several videos on proper use of thr collar. The shock should only be used for aggressive dogs and the timing is key to success. Ceaser has some great videos on this.Over all I would highly recommend this collar for responsible owners willing to put in the time with their pet. It’s made a huge difference with my dog and she is happy too. She gets treats for her good behavior and listening. It’s a win win for both of us.

  5. Puppy training collar. NOT A BARK COLLAR. It doesn’t have the capability to automatically shock when dog is barking, it did work great to help train her what was okay and what wasn’t. Charge lasted through the night and I kept the remote at the bedside incase she needed a beep to remind her she was wearing it. (If it seems like it’s not buzzing or shocking than charge it. It’s just low on battery) It worked, my dog doesn’t bark in her cage at night anymore. Best $40 ever spent
