  2. The media could not be loaded.

  3. Excellent Air Fryer for 2. I’ve owned a number of different brands of Air Fryers over the past 10 years and it has been very hit or miss. I moved into a smaller place recently and wanted a new Air Fryer that was better suited for smaller spaces and not take up too much counterspace. I searched long and hard and decided on this one. There is another version of this one that is slightly smaller and is WiFi enabled. I elected to go with this one since I could not think of a situation that I would want to control this unit remotely (although you can see the WiFi indicator on the touch screen, it doesn’t light up and there is no WiFi functionality in this unit. I assume the control panel on the WiFi version is exactly the same or they plan to make this one WiFi enable in the future as the reason for it being there.I’ve used it several times already to cook wings, fish, shrimp, and I even cooked a NY Strip in it (yep! I Air-Fried a steak… I know, I know… I said the same thing to myself that you are thinking while it was cooking), but to my surprise, using the preset worked like a charm. The steak was evenly cooked to a perfect medium well temp, just the way I like it. It was juicy, had a little char on the edges, tender and delicious (I cook a mean steak regardless). When I cooked the wings using the Chicken preset, I ended up adding additional time and increasing the temp since my previous experience with other Air Fryers indicated that the presets always undercook chicken, besides the fact that I like to flip them towards the end to ensure they are crispy all the around. The unit indicated 20 minutes @ 360 degrees. I changed it to 25 mins @390. At the end I flipped and added an additional 5 minutes for 10 wings and then after a total of 30 minutes Bam!!! Perfectly cooked chicken wings. I reduced the time by 5 minutes if I’m only cooking 5 wings or so. Pause at the 5 min remaining mark and flip. They come out just as crispy as if they were deep fried (non-battered wings) Now, 30 minutes is in no way faster than pan frying but waiting a little longer for healthier food is not a deal breaker in my book, especially if the food turns out good. The unit has a number of presets including one for Fries that alerts you when it’s time to flip. I have not used that preset yet but found the presets on every Air Fryer I have owned, to be hit or miss.Cleaning is a breeze. No, seriously, you cannot get any better than this. Simply let the unit cool. (DO NOT run it under water while it is hot, as it will warp the aluminum pan due to the rapidly changing temps which will also cause the Teflon coating to start to separate prematurely from the pan).Remove the crisper tray and run it under water or use the sprayer and then gently wipe it with a wet sponge or dish cloth using just warm/hot water or a mild soap. The rubber ends are removable, but I just leave them on and clean around them. Rinse the pan and wipe the same way. This is the easiest Air Fryer to clean. The non-stick surface, like all other Teflon based coating will deteriorate over time or improper care, therefore, use silicone, Teflon based or wooded utensils in it to avoid scratching the surfaces. It comes with no cookbook or any other accessories. There is an App that you can download that controls the Wifi version, but the App has dozens of recipes specific for use with both this model and the Wifi version. It has an actual on/off button where most units need to be unplugged (I unplug it anyway since I don’t trust touchscreen automated electronic panels which when defective can cut the unit on by itself). It has a timer and a preheat option. You can pause the unit, so you don’t have to reset the temp/time if you open it to check on your food allowing you to continue once you close it (major plus). The outside of the unit does “not” get hot. The fan ports the hot air out of the rear and has a built-in guard to ensure you have space behind it so that it is not flush up against the wall. There is a startup process when you first get the unit. Following the instructions, you basically run through each setting and a few presets to familiarize yourself with it. You’ll run preheat which will burn off and residual oils left from production. Unlike MANY of the others I have own or tried, there is no burning plastic odor when this thing is running. I had a different brand with an oven door and trays instead of a pan, that smelled like burning plastic that didn’t go away until I THREW it away.I chose this brand over so many others since I bought my daughter a previous model of the same brand. Since I have not heard a single complaint about it in 3 years’ time, I conclude that it is still running fine because she would not hesitate to call me and let me know how much she hates the piece of junk I bought for her for Christmas that one year.Overall, I am happy with this unit, although it did cut off prematurely once during cooking, but has since operated fine. I’ve had it less than 30 days but so far so good. It seems well thought out in the engineering department. While I should probably return for the one glitch, it has likely been resolved once the unit was unplugged and plugged back in.I highly recommend this unit if you are only cooking for 1-2 people. YMMV

  4. Ingeniero Opinando February 17, 2023 at 12:00 am

Además, no quedan crujientes. No salpica.

  5. COSORI Pro LE 5-Quart Air Fryer. As my title says, this is a review of the Pro LE 5-Quart fryer. It’s a bit frustrating how they bundle so many different products in one Amazon listing, so I want to be clear which one I’m actually reviewing. So, let’s go:First of all, I have no interest at all with the old-style COSORI fryers, with “the basket inside the pot” design. Oh, great, not only do I have one giant pot to try and wash and then maybe even squeeze into my dishwasher, but let’s have ANOTHER thing taking up my whole kitchen. No, the newer designs with the “crisper plate” design work far better for me. And thus, I decided to try this one. This isn’t my first air fryer, by any means, and not my first COSORI fryer, either. In fact, I want to give you a very quick comparison between the three (yes, three) COSORI fryers I have purchased recently. So, I will compare this fryer to the Lite 4-Quart Smart fryer and the Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer, which all have relatively similar designs.Other than their relative sizes, these have important differences in their control panels. So, let’s look into those:Pro LE 5-Quart fryer: Notably, this DOES NOT allow you to save your own preset settings, and it DOES NOT give you a count down in seconds during the last minute of cooking. Nope — it just sits there saying “1 minute” until it’s done.Lite 4-Quart Smart fryer: This DOES allow you to save your own preset settings, though two of the preset buttons have “multi-stage” settings, and my fryer DID NOT allow me to save any presets over those, even though my instructions booklet said I could do that. But it DOES have a seconds count-down during the final minute of cooking.Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer: This DOES allow you to save your own preset settings over ALL of the preset buttons, and it DOES have a seconds count-down during the final minute of cooking. But it DOES NOT have a SHAKE reminder, whatsoever. Now, let’s have a more involved look into each fryer:Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer: This is absolutely the quietest air fryer I think that anyone will ever have experienced. You almost can’t hear it running, at all. Yes, it’s small, but it’s not a “toy,” like I have found with some other small competitors. This will work just as well as any other COSORI fryer. It’s very light, and it operates up to 900 watts of power. You’ll find people who use them in motorhomes and RV’s tell their stories in reviews about it.Lite 4-Quart Smart fryer: I’m just not interested in the “smart” functions at all, but it’s there if you want it. In the end, “saving your own presets” also involves whether the original preset has a SHAKE reminder or not — so it gives you two presets that you can save your own settings over, including a SHAKE reminder. You can try to add a SHAKE reminder to a preset you’re trying to save that doesn’t have one originally, but it just won’t save that. So, if you want a SHAKE reminder in your perfect saved preset, you have two buttons that can do that. And that also goes the same with the Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer, which also gives you two buttons you can save your own preset over with a SHAKE reminder.Pro LE 5-Quart fryer: The lack of a seconds count-down during the last minute of cooking and the inability to save any presets of your own is a disappointment, but I wouldn’t consider either to be a deal-killer with this fryer. It’s probably quieter than the Lite 4-Quart Smart fryer but a bit louder than the Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer. When it comes to “what is the most inconvenient” — the lack of saving presets or the lack of a SHAKE reminder — I would definitely say that the lack of a SHAKE reminder is more inconvenient. I usually set a separate timer or check my watch and try to remember to shake the basket with the Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer, whereas the lack of an ability to save a preset with the Pro LE 5-Quart fryer just meant that I had to make a quick adjustment at the beginning, and I didn’t have to worry about it again. Again, neither of these are big deals, but that’s how I would describe the differences.Regarding size, of course you may or may not need a bigger or smaller fryer. The perspective I would add has to do with “portion size” — for instance, if you cook frozen french fries, just look at the portion size your package mentions. Usually, it will be 3 ounces. And if you have a food scale, by all means weigh up a whopping 3 ounces of french fries. That will barely cover the bottom of even the smallest air fryer basket. A bit of searching yielded some information that a “large size” fries at a fast food restaurant tends to be around 5 ounces, with a “small size” being about half as much, and a “medium size” somewhere in the middle. But still, even the Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer has plenty of room for those kinds of portions. It seems to me that the bigger basket sizes — for folks who will be only cooking for one — has a lot to do with foods that you will individually “pick up and flip over” instead of “shaking” the basket — and a bit of extra room makes a big difference with that kind of operation. It’s like how I made a grilled cheese sandwich in the Lite 2.1-Quart Mini fryer — and it was massively difficult to simply grab the sandwich in order to flip it over. A little bit of extra room really helps. In the end, if the Pro LE 5-Quart fryer had a seconds countdown during the final minute — or simply displayed seconds to begin with, all the time — and allowed you to save your own presets, I would consider it the best air fryer for my needs. My biggest beef with the Lite 4-Quart Smart fryer has to do with its crisper plate — which has two really quite large “finger holes” that raise up considerably above the rest of the plate. Speaking of a grilled cheese sandwich — it will NEVER lay flat on that plate, with those big obtrusions in the middle of the plate. Perhaps you just need to put it in the basket upside down, so you can have a flat cooking surface.Otherwise, I’ve been happy with COSORI fryers — they simply work, and seem to have better quality in terms of holding accurate temperatures, and technical issues like that. None of them have ever produced any kind of chemical smell, or have had any other issues you might read about with other brands. I recommend any of the three fryers I have mentioned here highly.
