Great for trail work. For the last number of months I’ve been volunteering for trail maintenance and construction. I’ve been carrying this saw in my pack and it has gotten heavy use. Others on the teams often carry 7″ saws, but this 10″ saw gives me much more flexibility on what I can take on. It’s not uncommon for me to tackle a log that is larger in diameter that this saw’s blade with no issue, just by working around the log. After months of heavy use it still seems to cut just as fast as when new and is holding up well. This order was for my second saw of the same model, since my original saw has been performing so well. I just wanted to have another one at the ready as a spare.
Amazingly sharp. I’ve had may other saws over the years, but this one shines as the sharpest and quickest cutting of all of them. It is not as fast as a chainsaw of course, but for small saplings and limbs, it is so much easier than lugging the chainsaw it makes the overall job easier. And there is much lower risk of lobotomizing myself!
Very sharp & holds an edge. I was hesitant at first to buy this saw with so many on the market around this price range. After I received it and used it, seeing that it cuts like butter ( better than my bow saw ) I will be buying another. GOOD SAW
Great in the backpack. This saw (10 inch) ate everything we put under it, even 8 inch diameter hardwood, for 5/7 days in the backcountry. On the 5th day the blade developed a bend and kept binding up in the cuts. We were able to straighten it a little with a couple of well placed blows from a rock so we could cut smaller stuff but we couldn’t finish a cut on anything larger than 3 or 4 inches. Still, an excellent tool for your bushcraft kit, B.O.B, backpack, or garden.
Best saw I ever used. I could not believe how easily it cut. It was perfect for trimming trees up to 3 ” in diameter. Comfortable grip. I would like a much larger one now for large trees
