Works great with Shortcuts app; makes slight noise. Complaints first: one of the two devices out of the box creates a very slight humming/hissing electronic noise. Weird that only one does it, and not the other. It is not loud at all, but if you have sensitive hearing or you happen to sleep in the same room as the device, it may be irritating.These work great for what they were designed. The Kasa app itself is fairly rudimentary – you can put whatever device you plug in on a schedule, a timer, or an Away feature which will switch it on at a certain time, off at another time, for whatever days you want.For me, I used the Apple Shortcuts app so that I can access a couple more triggers. The Shortcuts app can “access” the Kasa app and turn your devices on and off, trigger an alarm, set a temperature, play a “kasa scene”, and change light color and brightness.I programmed mine to switch my charger off once it reaches a certain battery percentage.
Convenient and Simple. Setting up the Kasa Smart Plugs was an absolute breeze. The process was remarkably easy and straightforward, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I had them up and running. One of the standout features was the seamless linking to my Amazon Alexa. The integration was flawless, allowing me to control the smart plugs with voice commands without any hiccups.Unlike other devices I’ve used, the Kasa Smart Plugs effortlessly pick up WiFi signals and maintain a strong, stable connection. This has eliminated the frustrating disconnections and disruptions that have plagued my previous experiences with smart plugs.Having the Kasa Smart Plugs in my home has added a layer of convenience that I didn’t realize I was missing. The ability to control devices remotely and effortlessly via voice commands has streamlined various aspects of my daily routine, especially when my body decides it doesn’t want to work properly. Whether it’s turning lights on and off or managing other appliances, the Kasa Smart Plugs have simplified these tasks in a remarkable way.I wholeheartedly recommend the Kasa Smart Plugs. They offer a level of convenience that truly makes a positive impact on day-to-day life.
Reliability and easy remote access. Due to an occasional Wi-Fi extender issue, a reset was needed to restore the signal which occurred a few times when we’re away from the house. The Kasa smart plug provided the means to do a power off/on reboot remotely using our cell phone. I installed another Kasa smart plug to control a blue tooth input adapter to stream music through the home theater system and avoid the tedious chore of plugging in/out each time. The plug network connection setup is quick and easy, and the app provides a simple way to control an electrical device remotely. I strongly recommend this item!
Pretty good, but if using for a light get a smart bulb. These are great, however I initially bought for a floor lamp because my living room doesn’t have a ceiling light, and I don’t want to trip through a dark room to switch on the light. It was super easy to setup and the app guides you through the short process.With the app you can turn on and off and setup a schedule for it. However, shortly after I bought Kasa smart bulbs (so I could use the same app) and those are better when it comes to controlling light (they dim and change color as well as on off and scheduling). So I’m going to swap it out and use this plug for an air conditioner that isn’t automatic.My only complaint (and it’s not a big one) is that it’s designed to be “small” so it doesn’t block another socket in a wall outlet (which is a plus), but has the opposite effect if used in a power strip where all the sockets are side by side. Not really the products fault, just remember that it will take up space on a power strip.
Great Procuct. I love these. I can control the lamps in the family room and even a small radio that I leave on for my bird. Also have a small camera/monitor for the family room from Kasa as well. Can control everything from my Smartphone. Highly recommend these plugs – they are the best! Easy to install and easy to set up on my phone. I have an Android – Pixel. No issues at all with the set up.
