This HP laptop has lots of plusses, but it also has some drawbacks. As a longtime HP loyalist, I wanted to love this laptop. I ordered it when my much-loved but rather old laptop died (also an HP) based on the brand as well as features I wanted (17″ screen was important to me, as was touchscreen, backlit keyboard, and 32 GB RAM). This laptop definitely delivers all of that. However, as others have noted, there is a LOT of glare on this screen. It’s fine when I’m working on a Word doc or in Excel, but it’s not so great when I’m using it to watch YouTube, Netflix, or other media. Also, the speaker leaves something to be desired — even at max volume, it’s sometimes not easy to hear. I fixed this by hooking up separate WiFi speaker, but it would be nice if you didn’t have to do this. Most critically, though, is the fact that even though Brand New, I’ve already had several instances where the computer “froze” and the mousepad didn’t work and the only way to fix it was to do a hard reboot. Soooo — while I like the price and many of the features of this laptop, I can’t give it a rave review. I’m giving it between 3.5-4 stars.
Great Product. I loved it but returned it for a smaller size. I travel and I didn’t think it would fit under the seat as a carry on, if it were for home use only I would have kept it, the screen size is perfect, touch screen too.
Great computer. This computer is for home use only. Love the touchscreen feature. Very well packaged. Happy with my purchase.
Backlit keys don’t help visibility. The keyboard is silver with gray letters. Not very easy to read. The backlight feature only helps in relatively dark settings. Other times it makes the keys harder to read. Otherwise, it’s a great laptop. Net version should have black keys with gray lettering.
SCREEN RESOLUTION SUCKS. PICTURE ON SCREEN LOOKS CLOUDY. NOT AN HIGH RESOLUTION.
Great laptop computer. My old HP 17” laptop is 13 years old, and even though it still runs great, I couldn’t afford to have it crap out since I do website development. This new laptop is blazingly fast, especially when compared to my old one. Beautiful display! But I came to realize that I’m a mouse guy and the touchscreen really wasn’t necessary on a laptop. Regardless, I highly recommend this computer.
Great, but. I just received my 17″ laptop and it is very nice and works flawlessly, so far. All my information from my old computer transferred over to this one with no problem. It has a finger print reader, in which, I did not know it had , so glad for that. The only thing that I don’t like is that the battery does not seem to hold a charge very long. I am having to charge about every 3 to 4 hours. My old computer could go 8 to 10 hours. Really not a big issue, I guess, since I can charge it at my desk and still use it. I knocked off a star for that.
Just What I was Looking For. Not sure what people are complaining/talking about when it comes to the back lightning feature (unable to see the keyboard characters)?🤷🏽♂️ The keyboard back light is perfect! I love this feature so much! If you can’t see this keyboard with back light on, you either got a defective piece or you may wanna get your eyes checked…!o! I purchased this computer after purchasing a visually identical HP 💻 (see left unit). My first HP laptop didn’t have all the bells and whistles as this one (see right side unit). I simply didn’t realize HP was making laptops that had backlit keyboards, touch screens, and biometric readers + all the other essentials like what this computer has. This computer is exactly what I’ve been looking for… My computer needs are for basic home use. This laptop computer is exactly what I’ve been looking for…👌🏽
Great size. Like the lighted key board. Also touchscreen, very fast and long battery kife
Battery life is no good. Everything works fine, the touchscreen is great and the backlit keyboard also is well, the only thing that’s bothering me is the battery life. It goes down very quickly without even doing anything by just letting the laptop on sleep mode.

HP computers from Amazon (resellers). This computer came late and did not work out of the box, no hard disk found error. HP blamed their reseller claiming they are reconfiguring (upgrading) these and it makes them not work, that it’s a known issue with resellers on Amazon. But they are reselling HP products and are probably authorised resellers? Amazon gave me a $50 gift certificate without being asked for the computer being screwed up and the delivery was more screwed up I was waiting for delivery at 8pm and the Amazon website was saying the computer was still coming but UPS had not managed to even get it on the truck. The HP tech in India somewhere advised me to tell my friends not to buy HP product from resellers on Amazon, ok cool thanks. The Amazon customer service guy tried to talk me into dealing with the seller. He wanted me to wait 24 – 48 hours to get a shipping label to return it to the seller. I kept him on the phone and returned it through the website. Why should I have to go through the inconvenience of dealing with a 3rd party seller when I bought the thing from Amazon? It’s really hard to believe this nonsense. I’m sitting here with nothing. Nobody offered to get me the computer I was trying to buy. I spent two days with my schedule completely screwed up waiting for delivery and in the end I got a defective package. Now I guess I get to start over but I don’t have the energy. I thought I got this taken care of finally but I got a mess instead. I’m a prime member and I’ve been one for a long time which means I’m paying for the privilege

Great laptop for the money. Gave this as a gift for my wife and she loves it. So far pages load quickly. Great features like touch screen, backlight keyboard. The only con so far was configuring the finger reader. It is very difficult to set it for some reason. Not a big deal since I set her up with Microsoft Authenticator app to log in. Overall great laptop and huge screen
